Martin Logan Mikros 90 On-Ear Headphones

I burned in for 2 hours and am listening to them now for the first time.  I'm impressed!  WOW, I love the detail and resolution on these; I know what people mean when they say 3d sound; very airy.  I would say the mids are what stand out on these.  Bass seems pretty tight and fast, but I wish there was a little bit more quantity.  Highs are detailed and a touch sibilant, but I'm guessing treble will smooth a bit after more burn-in.  I'll have to compare with HPH-200 and HSR-1000 after more burn-in.

With this, HPH-200, and HSR-1000 being so great at under $100, I'm wondering if I'll ever need to buy anything over $100.

Where is the picture or post on how to position these?  I think I have them positioned properly, but want to check.

Just a tiny bit more bass quantity with the same quality. HAH!

Good impressions, me likey! That airiness will get a bit more airy, at least a noticable difference if any. Though I didn't expect that till later, and it will sound fuller too!

Keep going!

Ha...welcome to the club.  If you like them now, wait until they open up after 50 or so hours of use.

I bBass seems pretty tight and fast, but I wish there was a little bit more quantity.

I don't want more quantity.  There are other models that emphasize quantity over quality...too many of those models nowadays, actually.

I'm quite happy with the balance the engineers at ML were able to pull off.

OK, I have fallen victim to the hype.  Ordered 2 pairs from Sonic Electronix yesterday....shipping out today.  I'm counting on these being the best things I've ever heard, and to make my lunches in the morning.  Anything else would be an abject failure....

I blame Lorspeaker for threadbombing and getting me over here.  Consider yourself on notice....

All kidding aside, I'm definitely looking forward to hearing these!  Sounds like they could be right up my alley sound-wise, and definitely up my alley price-wise.  Was looking at Shure SRH-1540's and willing to spend that kind of cash on it.  I'm continually hitting refresh on my UPS tracking page.....c'mon UPS!!

Well done !! You will not regret it. I have 3, one I kind of broke, lost a screw on on of the rings on the headband (all me not ML's fault)

Do you have the Smela or the Kiev version?

Smela. But apparently they were manufactured in Kiev. Kinda confusing lol! I quite like them, but I doubt they are nearly as resolving or detailed as the 90's. We'll see.

Which ones are you getting?

When you think about it, each of us has a unique outer ear (pinna or auricle) configuration, so--every other thing being equal--no two of us would hear the same headphones in exactly the same manner.  My listening preferences, governed in part by my pinna ensemble, have always included high frequency extension and capturing that sense of "air".  Many fellow Head-Fiers would categorize/have categorized my listening tastes as being tipped out on the "bright" end of the spectrum.
