The "Week-with-a-Crappy-Can" Challenge! OR "See how much of the experience the MUSIC carries!"

I would totally do this with my K/6X Plus if it didnt have a channel imbalance (That **** bothers me more than ANYTHING).

Hm. Maybe I could use my K240s... not exactly bad but I don't like them.

I've got these 3 year old Yamaha over ears that I had to recable, because the wire under the headband broke from over-use. Those things have stray peaks, valleys, and resonances all over the place.

Edit- Made it 4 hours with the Yamahas. Felt like my head was in a vice the whole time. The headphones certainly carry much more of the experience when you can't feel them...

superlux hd 651. its not that bad. i actually like the bass. but after a week or two it felt like the clamps want to go inside my skull. the comfort is so bad i literally threw it in my closet.

tried using it again, got a headache after 3 hours not to mention sweaty ears lol

Tried this again, I really can't do it. After tasting excellent equipment like the Pro/4AAA and DT1350, it's impossible for me to enjoy the music when the headphones are ****ting all over the music.

i've been using my free sanza earbuds all week at work. Definitely not the same as the HE-400, but I still love the music. I still enjoy it, and it still keeps me sane.

+1.

I used my MDR-EX082's for a week-ish of commuting, and still enjoyed the music. No, they aren't as nice as my normal IEMs, but I can still get into the music and they still provided enough isolation. The upside from the experience is now I know I have those as a back-up if I ever misplace the normal mobile cans. :)
