Cannot confirm as I have no recollection what I used to rip those files and I've purged them.  It didn't even bothered me until gapless came in and I'm NOT getting gapless for those 2 albums. They played perfectly fine as individual tracks.

Ah ok. Well I figured if it was on only 2 tracks then it's really minor. Gapless will be more handy for me once m3u support is working properly. I have lots of tracks that require gapless but I have them set up via playlists to keep the correct order (such as Favorite Rock, etc). Will not be renumbering tracks to get that to work (ghetto playlist support lol)....

One person commented on this issue in Amazon.  Are only Amazon-purchased files that are currently affected?  My I-tunes Store purchased files seem to be fine.

The first thing I do with Amazon purchases like that person mentioned is strip out all that extra metadata from the tags. MP3Tag is your friend!

i am very curious about Listrid FW 2 and Iriver beta FW2.
can anyone report perhaps experience using 1+2 IEMs, will Russian version sound too loud/aggressive with them? i love to have it but first plan to test Iriver FW2, so when i install Beta version is it safe to put Listrid 2 over it?

thanks in advance

That's what I have done and I believe Gavin has done the same. I haven't had any problems doing it this way around

I tried installing listrid 2 over both Iriver beta 2 and stock 1.33.   They are both safe and stable.   However, i think that there might be differences.   There are artifacts remaining from the iriver version that was first present.   First, there is the start screen.   It starts always with the screen that is associated with whichever iriver firmware you used.  For instance, it will say 2.0 if you have the beta; 1.33 if you have ... well ... 1.33.   This is not a big issue, but is evidence that listrid update still uses some artifacts from previous iriver install.  Second, I think I hear a difference in volume.  there appears to be a significant drop in volume if you apply listrid 2 to iriver beta 2.  I had to play a song at 68 that I was just playing at 62 when applying listrid 2 to stock 1.33.  I would recommend applying the listrid 2 to stock 1.33.

Good news though is that you can revert back to 1.33 from listrid 2 without having to use the IrongLung method, no need to reflash the rom.  At least listrid 2 is not leaving obvious artifacts when updated back to stock 1.33 as before.

My HM-601 just stopped charging last night. It's on its last legs and with the AK100 now availbile for $550-$700 with new firmware that enables gapless playback, I am seriously tempted. Has anyone run into issues with the output impedance?

I'd be pairing it primarily with ATH-ES10, and RE-ZERO/400 at the gym, for now. I plan on getting an HE-500 by October.

People have reported the high output impedance having an adverse effect on some of their heaphones.  I don't know about those particular cans though.  You should use the "Search This Thread" option to see if there are any comments on those specifics phones already.

I think the beta is based on the firmware for the ak120.  There are probably a lot of things in the beta that won't be used in the ak100.  i haven't heard any discussion of usb dac capabilities coming to the ak100.

I actaully am wondering how similar/different is the hardware and circuitry between the two AKs. Always think that how nice it would be if one day we wake up and our russian friends let us know USB DAC feature is actually just suppressed by software only and they "patched" it for us!

Anyone had trouble loading the 2.0beta?

I installed the patch from Crafty's dropbox (thanks Crafty!!) and everything still looks like the stock v1.33 that I was running before. Any tricks I should know? I've tried power off and power on as well as a 2-button reset.

Just looked at the code in the HEX file from Crafty's dropbox and I think there's an error - the code in the file refers to dropbox - maybe I did something wrong!?

I had no problem using the files from craftyclown's dropbox.

Did you see version 2.0 on the boot screen and are you able to alter your homepage layout in the settings?

No, something went wrong with the download - it might have been me.

I used the other link provided by someone else (sorry, I can't remember who to provide credit where it's due) and it worked perfectly. Looks good!
