Amp for HE-5LE's in the UK?

Thread Starter

Looking for a powerful amp on a budget for these things, and must be obtainable in the UK.

Currently using a Maverick D1, but the bass clips when i start EQ'ing it up a few notches.

I've seen the Hifiman HE adaptor that you can plug into a speaker amp, but wouldn't know where to start with looking at speaker amps, so that's an option but i'd need some help.

Many thanks in advance :)

What's your budget? The HE-5LEs are rather power-thirsty, that being the case I'd advise you get a Schiit Lyr if you can afford one. They are available from Mark at Electromod for £419. If that's too much, get an Audio-GD DAC/Amp (check their site for options) from Frank at Toxic Cables.

A few friends have given positive comments about the Burson soloist with ortho's. Its a good value unit and have enough power to spare.
