To me the EX71 sounds more balanced (when both driven, and inserted correctly) than the PX200... I just don't like that 'phones honky nature... too nasally for my liking...

...Another vote for the KSC35

Read the title of the thread, GreenFloyd -- sheesh. Earbud fascist!

I just got my PX200s in the mail today. I only listened for a few moments, but here are my initial gut reactions.

For the price, these 'phones ROCK! I don't know what people are talking about the bass lacking -- the bass is great, not too overdone, very nicely reproduced IMO. The whole range is great. I guess I get a good seal, but I moved them all around my ears, and I couldn't _not_ get a good seal. I guess I'm just lucky, I have ideal ears for them or something. OR the idea that it's hard to get a good seal on these phones is being spouted by folks with Alfred E. Newman ears...

I am listening to a lot o dub these days, which has a lot of action going on in the lower end, but a lot of mids and highs as well. These phones are going to be great for my dub collection, and after I burn them in over the next week or so, I can only imagine they will get even sweeter!

I would go for these over any earbud, no question -- and for me personally, I would much prefer them over any canalphone, just for comfort reasons, and much better bass response.

MAN I am so happy with this purchase -- for $44 shipped through ecost.com, you cannot go wrong in my opinion (Alfred E. Newmans of the world excepted). I am in bliss!

Someone mentioned using the small gaskets with the EX71's; I found the bass TOTALLY dies if you do that, and the treble is tinny. These gaskets must be for little babies or small children.

Can someone lend me their PX200's for the comparison? I sort of plan on getting them in the near future.

The PX100 is even better because its $10 cheaper and has tons of bass, good for rap.

Cheers,

I would call the bass on the PX200s good, although it may very well be more prominent with the PX100s. But for me, isolation was a requirement (for others, and myself).

I think the bass on the 200s is great, and the phones aren't even burned in yet. It doesn't honk like a 2000 Watt subwoofer in the back of your car, but it is very decent IMO -- nowhere near as bad as some folks seem to imply. I was all thinking they would be tinny as heck, and the bass is great!

They are _really_ slick looking too, btw. Which always helps!
