I'm guessing Apple should have noticed the downloads done for iPhone 4/s and iPod Touch 4 from external creators of EQ programs, and thus addressed this by making a custom EQ option in the new iPod Touch. What do you think?

I doubt it, that would after all be far to simple of Apple, they enjoy making things how THEY want too without really listening to anyone. If the apps were doing the job, those apps will continue to do so. I'm sure they've probably considered it though it's escaping their user friendly device profile. And besides, a large percentage of people don't even know how to use one since presets were made on Apple devices.

I find it baffling that when asking some members here if they use EQ....they laugh and say 'yeah man I have an EQ" I reply saying no, not the EQ on your ipod a REAL eq with adjustable bands. They often reply saying no... I've never tried one, usually followed by how do you use this? It looks quite complicated.

Not only are Apple presets being brain washed into everyday consumers they're absolutely terrible in how they alter the sound.

I'd be willing to bet they won't. Thankfully some of the apps available do a marvelous job.

Agreed. The "equalizer" app is a good one.
