I bought my first headphones last year from Jan, Senn 600's. Good price honest dealer. Added Blue Jaspis from, I love Grado. Because of all the reviews and posts here I was able to make an informed choice, thanks everyone.
I've used the senn's with several outputs (CDP, Preamp) sounding very good with each.
They have found a permanent home pluged into the back of my 1963 Fisher FM100B tuner. I have removed the tuner from my "main" system moved it into the bedroom and have never looked back. This combination ROCKS! To my ears it gets no better. The only down side it the volume controls are little pots on the back side of the tuner. This old stereo tuner combined with the Sennheiser HD-600's has a synergy that is magical.
The only down side is that I had to buy another Fisher to replace the FM100B.

So, you too have discovered the vintage Fisher magic?I use a couple of old Fisher 400 receivers.I have one in my office that I use for the outstanding full-tube,built-in headphone amp.I have only recently found dedicated component headamps that sound as good. These Fishers are great.I have rebuilt and modded probably a few dozen of these over the years.I have one that I am currently modding(when I get the time)to use EL84 output tubes and all 6922 preamp tubes.I think we may have let the secrect out.I remember talking about the Dynaco ST70 amps on another board about a year ago and it started a huge thread that had over 7400 hits. The prices of those amps has tripled since then.I also have a Fisher 100b.It's ugly but sounds awesome.

Yea, Fisher is great. I've started buying them and plan to add the Fisher Doctor Resto-Kits. The ouput tubes need the resistors added to protect from damage if a tube goes bad. The rectifier needs replaced along with old caps. Not a big deal for an amateur like me to do.
Reviews of the Scott 350 tuner are very good. Have you ever heard a Scott? Don't see many of them for sale.
This will sound strange but when using the 500C receiver with the Cornwalls I often use MONO. It sounds very good with the local NPR FM Jazz show. However the headphones are by far better in stereo.
