Busy times, busy times.... did all the US people go out to the voting booths yet? I didn't get my absentee ballot in the mail; I'm quite miffed to say the least...

Anyways, all you anti-smartphone folks should check this out: http://johnsphones.org/

Speaking of the PFE232, I should probably post this in the 232 thread some time, but is there any owner not getting much ear time on it that is willing to give me a loan for a few weeks? I've heard it before, and was frankly underwhelmed (especially for the price). But I want to give it another chance.

I don't know. For example, this top-rated seller from the US. He has Motorola RAZR V9 which may suit you, Samsung S3600 or even the simplest Nokia 100. Look for top rated sellers with lots of sold items and positive feedback.

I know the basics but it still bothers me for some reason.  That guy's are all GSM though.  I need CDMA.  There might be something in there but U've got to find a model to search for in the first place.  Maybe I'll try the manufacturer's international/other-countries-that speak-English sites and see if I find anything I like.

Someone posted some... interesting impressions of the LCD-2s wherein he talks about people close to him and what they think of them. I feel really awkward watching the YouTube videos he posted of his wife singing along to some music. Apparently she doesn't know he posted those videos online for people all over the world to see. At this point, I can't help but wonder about the motivations and thought processes that go on with some people. There's a definite voyeuristic quality at work, someone one sees only hinted at with unboxing videos and shots of peoples rigs at home. Headphone listening is a very private activity by its very nature. In that sense, there's almost an exhibitionist quality when it comes to making that private moment public.

Is that a different link or did it get deleted?

Also, Rule 34 for the lulz...

@Ronin

If you really want a better user experience form factor wise I would look into Nokia. I'm not a physical qwerty keyboard guy myself but Nokia used to make a old school dumb phone with a slide out keyboard that was quite easy to type on and fast to text with. I should know my at the time my girlfriend used to have one and she never gave it up until one day she dropped it in the tub. If you want good usable hardware and form factor Nokia is generally well known for that. They've always implemented the hardware side and form factor side of things on their phones very well.

I think whoever in HP killed off Palm should be fired. They invested all that money created a very nice looking tablet with a very nice workable OS only to dump it in less then two months after it hit the market? That doesn't make any sense to me.

They barely even make anything like that anymore

Does it need a special one or can I poke at it with whatever key/pen/stick I happen to be holding like I can with my DS?  (That's a touch screen done right BTW.  It should augment physical buttons.)

I can't type very well on those either.  They're better than touch screens but they're still too damn small.  I don't want to type, send emails, or read documents on it.  I just want a good phone with a cell modem for my laptop/netbook in it but that product doesn't seem to exist.

An ye old nokia N900 would be a good choice for you....

I just came from Rogers. Maybe I've been into the reading about the wireless handheld stuff to long but for whatever reason none of their so called smartphones really thrill me. I look at them and their specs and all I can think is " big deal, give me something that will awe me and not just more of the same cheap plastic piece of crap handsets". Galaxy SIII, meh, iPhone 5, who cares, HTC One X, oh puleassee. There's nothing about any handhelds I can say truly intrigues me.

Beats audio on One X......someone shoot me

You know, I really have to learn to walk away from all this Apple Google handset gear crap. I got my M-80's plugged into my V player right now and I'm enjoying the song Georgia Peach by Acoustic Alchemy right now. My M-100's are in my backpack getting a well deserved wrest. My old Touch is recharging as well as my UHA-4 and RX MKII. To my right I have my DT1350's packed away in its carry case and my trusty old Grado SR60i's are lying next to them. I haven't used my Sennheiser HD25-i-ii's in awhile I really should break them out one day and relive good times. Now that I think about it I should break out my pride and joy K2 sp's soon too. Rather wild I'm talking about gear when in the end what really matters is the music. Dance to the music ladies and gentlemen. Do it now because when we're all old I doubt any of us will be able to. Considering we're all gear-fi geeks we'll probably all be to deaf to hear the music never mind dance to it.

Yes I'm in one of my funky moods tonight

My funky mood rolls on. At this rate by the end of the week I'll be shaving my head and joining a monastery somewhere in the desserts of the Middle East

Enjoy
