Focal Spirit One is a nice sounding closed can, but there seem to be many with quality control issues.
I heard them for the first time a couple of days ago and actually prefer them over the K550... fairly similar sounds, the AKG being more neutral, and the Focal more musical and engaging.

Yea Focal Spirit One seems to not have very favorable reviews...

I want to use them primarily for movies, music/gaming second. Would K550 be a good choice for that? It's my first time getting a headphone and I want to get one decent that can last me a while..

Don't get me wrong, I've been seriously considering the K550 for a while now - I love the sound of open/semi open headphones, so choosing a closed can has been a real battle for me, mostly due to lack of brands for audition where I live.
I really like the K550 - maybe the only thing that I dislike is the closed sound, but I have yet to try out a lot of the strong competition from Audio Technica and Ultrasone which have favourable reviews, but according to most have more bass - I think the K550 is just a little bass light on the lower end (but has a lot more bass than most of my current headphones so is probably perfect) - although this could be because I was comparing it to the Focal at the time.
