Tralucent Audio 1Plus2 IEM (Now With 'New' 1Plus2.2!) Impressions Thread

Ugghh, actually I got mixed up, it's the Ts series I meant. The Ts is more rounded, it's touted as being more comfortable but I've found they seem to consistently sound clearer and more balanced than the T series tips. You should be able to use either the Ts400's or Ts500's on the 1plus2's (or any other similar sized nozzle type).

Ok initial impressions:  I thought I might need to adjust my brain to the sound of 1+2, but it didn't take as long as I thought. I played around with different tips, comply ones give me the best result. I do find other tips tend to make 1+2 a bit sibilant. Comply foam ones smoothen the treble a bit. I don't really know how to describe the sound because it doesn't really have a strong character. It really reminds me of HD800 a lot. In short, 1+2 is probably one of the most neutral iems I have ever heard! (if not the most neutral). I can't really pick any flaw. The spectrum to my ears are truly super flat! There isn't any portion of the spectrum is being pushed out or cut. It's not V or U shaped at all to my ears. With that said, 1+2 has great imaging! Very spacious presentation. The bass is really something! Very deep and tight. 1+2 can pump out massive bass when required! must be the power of dynamic driver. So the thickness of the note depends on the songs and source a lot. 1+2 will give you accuracy of the music rather than an organic presentation like SE5.

I really love it! a lot! I will compare it with SE5, NT6 and JH13 when I got the JH13 tomorrow. But so far it's very promising!

1+2 pairs with AK120's lush sound very well! The combination of treble and mid are just right on the sweet point, providing super imaging with balanced presentation.

welcome to... Hell... I mean your wallet :)
seriously, subscribed on all counts except for neutral, have you ever heard studio monitors used in recording studios? you would be surprised how dull they can sound but you know they are on different purpose to give sound engineer utmost accuracy across entire spectrum. sometimes i am truly amazed how some people wish for something that they most likely would hate if heard :-D

on the rest, i really marvel at enthusiasts like Gavin from Tralucent and Cees from Metrum because they make gear that brings such great music and emotionality that it makes you forget about price, one word - beauty. I today spinned my Rwak with T1 and T1 again confirmed that Tralucent is real something so special that i cannot put this into pure money terms, after all not every thing can be measured by money! gladly.

Unfortunately no. I treat audio from a listener's perspective. So what neutral means to me will be the sound closest to live/theatre performances or sound in real life.

Ok I am a friend of Gavin, but this is just demo version. So I can return it if I don't find it good enough. I am not trying to hype anyone here. I will mention the weakness of 1+2 when I do the comparison with my CIEMs. But overall 1+2 is truly an amazing sounding IEM.

Tupac, happy to hear you are friend of Gavin, must be a joy when two friends are also crazy audiophiles.

i understand your sound concept because i judge the sound pursuit the same way you or Gavin do.
now let me give you an example of live sound. i was twice to the concert of Michael Bolton in Vienna. the first concert took place in old musical classic theater called Wiener Konzerthaus and the sound was godly because the hall acoustic was amazing. the second time it took place in normal concert hall and the sound was not anywhere close despite that performance was brilliant and Bolton sang as always amazing. so when we talk about live performance these can differ a lot. when i have to describe live sound pursuit i would suggest go to a good club with proper acoustic for a live acoustic and unplugded event, this will be exactly what i mean by live like analogue like sound :-D)))

I might have to take back some of the words I said about the sound signature, because I just find out 1+2 is so dependent on what tips you use. I can have 3 or 4 different sound signatures just by switching from tips to tips. No wonder people's impressions vary so much. I will talk more about this when I do the actual comparisons tomorrow with other comply tips.

I really liked it as well. If I remember the jh13 initial sound correctly, you'll probably prefer the 1+2 until the 13s run in. Then it will get interesting. 2 great devices. The tip comment is always something to consider. I grew tired of tip rolling in general (not related to the 1+2) but it does allow some personal synergism with an IEM.

I am sure 13 will be great too:) I will have to play around with 1+2 with the tip rolling to get the best of it. With the wrong tip, it can sound harsh~ but with the right one, it can potentially sound like one of the best!

Lol I just happen to have some more t500 tips. I find foam ones to be the best. All this orthofon ones sound very bright and sibilant to me (hard to take). My ear drums must be closer to the tips lol

You didn't find that the foam absorbed the higher frequencies making them seem recessed or similar? Then again I only tried the TX-500s. I will try those suggestions. Currently, my favourite are the 'Heir' Tips as they are being called.

Btw what is the status of the tour? Is it with Gintaras?

Do yours have any hours on them. If not that may be some of it, cable included. It's hard not to comment on new babies but I find the better stuff seems to change more qualitatively with run in, just because they have less sig and more info to start with.

What tour? I'd be very interested to join.
