Honestly, I should be comparing FitEar 111 to 334 or something. But that would be boring and personally I thought this would be more exciting (?). I will admit it right here, I’ve never really listened to FitEar 111 much until recently. Overall, it’s pretty “flat” IEM. As for EX1000, I certainly have said a lot of “negative” things about it and that have always bothered me.
The thing with 111 is that it’s extremely flat, vocals are flat, everything’s flat or at least it sounds like it. Due to this trait, some may actually find muffled (i.e vocals being brighter, thus easier to hear or w/e) When I usually think “flat” I think everything being really rigid, and cold but surprisingly it is smooth.
- Flat
- Good instrumental separation.
- Vocals are not back nor in front
- Some may find it muffled
EX1000, some people love it and some people hate it. I don’t hate it nor love it. I certainly see why it has attracted so many Head-Fi members. It is an all-rounder, but it certainly does have worst seal. Bass is somewhat similar to 1Plus2, crisp but wider and thinner. I personally find the vocals are bit back and as for instrumental separation it’s either miss or hit, really depends on the mastering. After comparing 111 and 1Plus2, EX1000 certainly doesn’t do anything better than them. But what makes EX1000 so great is that it blends everything together and creates great harmony.
- Some may find it bright
- Good instrumental separation
- Punchy bass
- Worst fitting/seal
My honeymoon period with 1Plus2 is finally over. Where to begin? It has biggest and thickest bass rumble out of three. It’s tight and not overwhelming. Vocals sounds bit brighter compared to 111 and certainly more in-your-face then EX1000. One thing I’ve noticed is that 1Plus2’s vocal doesn’t sound as far back as before, but it could be my imagination. At times I find too much is happening all at once because it presents everything with ease. I am not saying that it’s a bad thing, but sometimes simplicity is the best you know? Overall, I find 1Plus2 really lively, has that addicting “oomph” trait.
- Vocals don’t get in way of instrumentals, vice versa.
- Thick and tightly controlled bass
- Vocals sounds bit bright, but has really really really nice natural sounding
