Alhtough there are exceptions to the rule as well such as the SE5. I think lightning really likes how his 8As pair on the Tera as well? I'll be demoing it later this month so I'll post on how my IEMs pair :).

Thanks for pointing it out.

Cheers

Then it has to leave it to personal experience...

Back in 1999, I bought a pair of Venture speakers and thought it's gonna be alright with my then powerful Krell KSA power amp.  To my surprise, the SQ was just fall short of terrible and the end result, to cut a long story short... the subsequent change to rectify the issue (with new pre-amp to power amp) that cost me over USD30k of investment to make the new system worked...this was my lesson of synergy my friend.

Cheers

+1, synergy is something impossible to measure until you hear it

Hi all, I just found some info in this forum.
It seems that the thread starter claims to be the designer and he said the 1plus2 uses the same driver as ie8.
Can any one confirm any of this? Thanks.

This looks to be the same thread that was brought up quite a while ago. At least from what came of that, things got lost in translation. The guy is assuming that all hybrid IEMs are the same and sound the same. Pretty comical when you think of it and very ignorant (misleading) at the same time. Also he is not the designer of the 1Plus2 but the designer of his own iteration of a hybrid IEM type/design.

To put it layman's terms "Hey I created the hybrid IEM first and thus it is as good as all others and cheaper! Buy from me!".... lol

Totally agreed Lee.

Like speakers, lots of brands sourced the driver units from speaker driver manufacturer (like Accuton for example) and doesn't mean all speakers that are using Accuton driver units would sound the same.

Two things regarding possible custom tips:
They will probably cause the housings to stick further out of the ears and could cause the end of the nozzle to be placed further from the ear drum, which may or may not result in an unwanted sound change.

Just guessing but Aurisonics custom tips might fit the nozzle.

Yeah I'm thinking that as well. But ever since I've loaned my 1Plus2s out and I'm using my IE8s with custom tips, I'm like...ugh.

Just remembered something from my short experience with the 1plus2 that I forgot to post with my earlier impressions...

To those who experience cable microphonics, not only make use of the chin slider, but also of the earguides. This works pretty well ime, at least with the silver/gold cable. When I first tried the 1plus2, the earguides were bent around my ears in a way that they didn't touch my skin. As a result, cable microphonics was rather annoying. After bending the ear guides into a tighter curve to make them touch the skin behind my ears, microphonics was greatly reduced, even without using the chin slider.

Apologies if this tip may be obvious to you IEM veterans 'round here, but I figured it might still be helpful to less experienced members.

Wow! Where was the table sourced from Tupac?
I love metrics and this is a terrific way to gauge headphones. I'm assuming ADSR stands for Attack Decay Sustain Release. This covers all the bases. Love it!

It's not from tupac, it's from
Lol:wink: The table took me pretty long ~

On the serious note, this is my 100% honesty, no bias to any IEM at all.  I just simply stated what my ears heard, that's all.
The review is too long and too poetry to be translated (>10000 words) :p
