Wow, such a nice meet!  I just wish I could be there.

More pictures, please!

FYI, I've got your headphones. Will feed you data in the next week or so.

Can we do it again next week?

I've already gotten a request to organize one in San Diego.

Anyways, a big thanks for everyone who showed up to make this meet successful. Thanks to the folks who sacrificed a lot of time (and money) to help out. There were a lot of people who pitched in to make this possible. Too many names to mention, but here are a few: Teufelshunde, tehmom, Jude, rubenpp, anetode, and r_burke + asr (both of whom were not able to make the meet!)

There were about 120 attendees, although it seemed much less because of all the space; but I guess the space was a good thing because the listening conditions were very good, much better some mini-meets even!

Finally thanks to the vendors: Audeze, Cavalli Audio, DNA, Eddie Current, Headamp, HeadRoom, Joe Audio, Ultimate Ears, Mr. Speakers, Schitt. Teknmotion, V-moda, and Bellatone.

I regret that I was not able to get out and meet many of you. I was running a lot getting stuff for people and taking care of various "meet" things.

A big thank you and props to purrin, n3rdling, LFF, Anaxilus, Teufelshunde, Ultrabike, Questhate, itshot, MisterRogers, and everyone else who helped out with the meet.  This was my first meet and I found the quantity and quality of gear to be overwhelming.  The setup worked out really well; it was fairly quiet, so you could get in a good listen.  I was really impressed with how polite, friendly, and helpful everyone was too.  Special thanks to jazzfan and CEETEE for taking care of me.

It was a great time seeing a number of my best old headphone pals (you know who you are).  I didn't end up with as many pictures as perhaps I might have liked, but such is the price of friendship, I suppose

This was without question the quietest large-scale meet I've attended, not that I ended up doing much listening, but it must have been nice for those that did.

Hey I forgot while I was there that I wanted to hear the Hifiman EF6. Is the guy who owns that reading this thread? I want to compare it to my modded EF5. If you are interested let's get together sometime. The only issue is that the EF5 doesn't provide a balanced output, so we have to use an unbalanced headphone with it. I have a recabled Audeze LCD2 that is unbalanced.

A BIG thanks to Purrin and team for arranging this most excellent meet!

If I had known the rooms would be so quiet, I would have brought my K1000. Next time...

I would also like to thank Blubliss for entrusting his R10s to my table for a few hours for everyone to try with the Stratus. I certainly enjoyed them

IPodPJ: I had NO idea you were doing a double-decker combo of the HD800 with HD650. That would have been fun to experience. Again, next time...

I got to experience PJ's frankenphone. Although it was painful to have on my head, I totally understand what he was saying. Everything gained more weight and body, while still retaining the HD800's openness. It's not something I could live with every day, but it was fun, especially with the binaural recording he was demoing.

Well, I was gonna start a new thread about this.  But seeing as how we're all taking about it here, might as well just keep going.  Plus there's less of a chance that they'll lock/delete an innocent meet impressions thread should things get ugly.

I found the difference pretty profound.  The resulting sense of actuality, of realism, was seriously something to be reckoned with.  And God yes, you haven't heard binaural until you've heard binaural this way.

C'mon guys, I saw those jaws drop!  You know what you heard, so throw your two cents in on this.  IPodPJ's one-in-a-lifetime freak discovery must be vindicated.

Warren,
It wasn't only with binaural btw, just most of you liked that one but it was demoed with other tracks, too. It seemed to be popular so it was the one I kept on rotation the longest because you guys were lining up to hear it and the effects are even more pronounced. It was fun watching some of you look around and say things like "who was that?" or "what was that?" not even knowing that the track had started yet. The '3...2...1,,,smile....' countdown was fun to watch and glad you guys enjoyed it.

Yes santacore, definitely heavy on the head which I mentioned previously and more clamping force, so it's not for everyone. The LCD3 were very enjoyable and I might have to add a pair of those to my collection soon. Still missed out once again on the T1 but got to hear the 009, albeit not on the T2, nor did I know there was a KGSSHV present until I saw those pics.

Finally home...... Will likely be days before I unpack it all.

Oh totally. I was just thrilled to hear the effect at all. Its just one of those things where I wanted to know if it was just crazy-talk or crazy crazy-talk. But yeah, the binaural tracks were beyond fun. :) Seriously, you need to take that to all meets everywhere. You might just start a trend. I tell ya, if I ever see people stacking up in public, Ima bust a nut on the spot.

Lol, because I knew he was somewhat incapacitated at the moment, I chose that exact time to show him something rather silly - knowing that he couldn't crack up.
