Alright guys, you've helped me before so I turn to you again. My nephew recently broke my RP-22x on accident so I immediately bought a pair of the Koss Pro DJ100's since they were the other cans I was considering when I bought the RP-22x. I like the Koss cans, very good output for just $50, but they just don't have enough bass. The RP-22x were monsters on the low end but after hearing the Koss it made me realize the mids/highs weren't quite up to snuff. I was able to crank the volume and bass and wasnt able to bottom them out, they rattled my brain nicely with hard bass notes. What cans would you suggest I consider that have the bass of the RP-22x and the mids/highs of the DJ100, with a budget of $150?

I almost pulled the trigger on the ATH-PRO700 MKII last night, can get em refurbished for $120 shipped. Also considering the ATH-M50, Denon DNHP1000, and the Ultrasone HFI 580 but am open to other suggestions.

The main purpose of these cans will be to preview rap songs on my desktop setup, basically listening to the bass response to see which songs I want to keep and add to my bass song playlist. Secondary purpose is to determine whether or not I should discard songs based on the quality of the recording and lastly just for good old fashioned music enjoyment....I mostly listen to rap and R&B but I also enjoy stuff like Metallica, Disturbed, Earth, Wind and Fire, The GAP Band and Phil Collins.

So what do you guys think I should go with?
