I don't think I'm getting used to that, because these things don't really clamp at all. its just the pads... The pads are pretty much not even there. Ow.

Maybe it's the pads getting worn down, but I used to feel the same way you did and got used to it. If you're not so sure then go with the WS55 pads, you'll like them.

Why the WS55s over the HM5s? The HM5s would isolate more, too, correct?

Someone who owns them needs to chime in, they could give you a more specific answer. The HM5 pads are HUGE, so they don't fit on the S500s quite right. The WS55s are supposed to have the best sound signature.

That's why I plan to also get the O ring to go with it.

So, I have updated the review. I plan on making a true final thoughts on the sound in a few days.

I've got it in 24bit 88.2khz and special track 14 in 16bit 44.1khz if you need it.

Yes please! :p

PS. The WS55 pads definitely feel like they clamp more than stock, or even the ATH pleathers.

Daleb, It's not worth getting hm5 pads if all you really care for about these is the bass. But if there's a way to increase the clamp force now would be perfect, If i hold the pads closer to my head the bass is gigantic, hits so perfect but once you release it's gone :frowning2: That's what I get though, you live you learn.

On ear isn't as comfortable, should be common knowledge.

I wonder if something like this would fit?
Its not that they are on ears, its that the pads aren't soft in any way. if there was something soft actually pushing down on your ears, I'd be fine. right now I don't even consider these padded at all.
Edit: I'm wearing them right now, and I'm going to see how long I can wear them before going crazy.

Edit2: Why has almost no one posted a review of these on its page here? We could get it much higher ranking really easy...

Edit3: man, I can only last 30 minutes before it gets so painful... agh..... WHY

I watched http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0903624/ wearing the S500s with stock pads recently....running time, two hours, forty-nine minutes. I must have manly ears or something....

LOL Mine are on my ears like 10 hours a day. And I'm a movie geek - I watch movies and TV series all the time. I have zero issues - no problem wearing them all day long without taking them off, so I guess my ears have super powers.

How do you guys wear them? I've been able to wear them foward off the back of my ears pain free for a few hours now, but I can't wear them on the back of my ears to help isolate. Dangit, I don't like wearing them like this. Also I'm the kind of person who will press them against my head as hard as I can just to improve isolation. I need to not hear the world!

If you not need to hear the world then I'm sorry to say wearing headphones is a bad choice.

In your case I would go for some well isolating IEMs.

I already did, and I raised them up from #18  to #15. The more reviews made, though, the higher it'll rise in rank, because rank is also based on popularity.

compared to IEMs, these things are heaven in comfort. IEMs make a constant stabbing pain to my ears hours after I take them out that makes me just want to call the hospital.

But where on your ears!

Edit: Plus, I won't need isolation outside of the house starting next week, so these will be fine. I have my 280s for home isolation already.
