So.. Anyone thought about the toilet paper/paper towel pad mods here..? Still thinking about doing that, but don't wanna fill up the pads with paper actually.. Any alternatives for that? :P

I tried the mod, but it wasn't my cup of tea. It completely took away the openness of the sound which gave it a congested feeling. The bass increased in quantity, but the other elements were diminished in my opinion.

No paper towel/toilet paper here. Stock pads make for perfect synergy with my rockboxed Clip Zip.....no EQ or additional amp required.700

This. Stock plugged directly into my Cowon S9 is a match made in heaven. No EQ, no BBE, no nothing. It's as if those things were tuned for my ears biggrin.gif

Burning them in at 3.5 volume on my FiiO E11 + EQ1 setting (more bass).

They are vibrating like mad lol tongue.gif

Is that something I should worry about and reduce the volume??

Since I have settled on the HM5 pads, I have available the ath velours, the ath pleathers and the akg pads.  I have two sets of slightly used of all three pads, and I would sell the sets of three plus a set of the stock pads for $20 shipped Paypal gift.  If anyone wants to try these pad mods please PM me!
