I want to tweak my worn out beyerdynamic DT770 Pro 250Ohm; give it a paint, upgrade the cable and add a piece of dampening material to the shell to fine tune the midrange. I'm quiet new to this so I had a question on choosing the right cable.

What should I look at when choosing the cable? Ohms? Conductor capacitance? Shield capacitance?
Any tips on brand? Musilux, Canare Star Quad or Klotz?

I wouldn't get too hung up on the numbers or shielding types. Try some star quad like Canare or Mogami, you'll find it to be an easy project.
