Now that burson has their new solooist amp I was wondering if anyone has made any comparisons to the bryston balanced headphone amplifier.I have lcd2 v2s and would like any observations on the sound of these two amps when used with the lcd2 v2s.
The bryston is a bit more but you do get a balanced amp with the ability to listen to more than one headphone at the same time.I must assume those two phones have to be the same. There are six amps on board the bryston as opposed to two in the burson. The ability to drive balanced or single ended with the bryston is nice.I know the burson also has a preamp out feature which could come in handy when used with active speakers.
Any feedback on the comparison of these two amps would be appreciated.

The Burson soloist its pretty new, we have to wait for some time for the impressions/comparisons to come. Im sure it will be at head-fi meets, we'll see.

I have auditioned the bryston about a month ago and it sounded pretty good with the audezes. The amp sounds vey dynamic and is pretty neutral sounding.Which seems to help balance out the warmish nature of the audezes and tightens them up  a bit.The bass from the bryston is really impressively powerful and tight at the same time. The sound of this combination sounds very resolute as well.I have a ha-160 amp now that drives the audezes pretty well but the bryston just seems to be more of a piece when paired with the audezezs.Of course the bryston is close to double the price I paid for my bryston which was $699.99 when I bought mine.I was just wondering how it compared to the new burson amp.Of course the bryston is more money but does offer balanced operation over the bursons single ennded only operation.
I  think I may trade up for the bryston eventually based on my very positive impressions of it when I auditioned it.

You might as well add the Mjolnir.

These are the three newest amps out if I'm not mistaken.  There are lots of first impressions on the Mjolnir over in that thread.

My Bryston should be here sometime next week.  I'll give my first impressions as well.

In addition the LCD's sound good on most amps.  May want to try a more neutral headphone to compare.
