I miss "albums"... You know, this thing that had 30 to 50 minutes of music that you played from start to finish... What are some of your best sounding favorites?

My other nit pick is the album that might have only 30-40 minutes worth of audio, but at the full price of an album.

That was about the length of an LP... 20 minutes a side.

I think one of my favorite albums right now and I listened to it all the way through last night is Fiona Apple's newest album. It was fantastic.

"The Ballad of Sally Rose", a concept album by sweet EmmyLou, by under-appreciated EmmyLou Harris. There is no banging on this album, only the notes and the chords, only the charming pure voice of EmmyLou and the sound of the acoustic instruments. What a beautiful, beautiful [ and forgotten ] music and album that is.

I hate it when albums have several songs on them that the group released on previous albums. After seeing this, I started buying best of albums. These are usually missing some of the best songs though, so then one needs to buy other best of albums by the same artists, or buying some full albums instead. I guess the solution may be to buy the missing songs individually on Amazon or itunes if they are small in number. Some of the best songs though were only released as singles.

Another great album which I haven't mentioned in this thread came to my mind today. The album in question is Charlie Winston's second album Hobo:

Here are two semi-random songs from the album:
