Don't buy any "FiiO products" from SainStore on Amazon because they sell fake FiiO products to customers, also, if you have bought FiiO products that do no have Serial Number on the packaging, please report to your seller or Amazon.

How to distinguish a genuine  FiiO E6 from a fake one? The following pictures teaches us the main differences between a genuine FiiO E6 and a fake one.

Most importantly, the fake one's battery does not have a foam pad and is poorly made, it may explode and cause serious damage to your property. (Please click the pictures to enlarge)

On the side of the box, the fake one does not have a serial number on the packaging. All genuine FiiO E6 products have a serial number attached on the side of the box.

The fake one comes with a poor quality photo-copied user's manual and is not folded correctly to show the first page.

The genuine FiiO E6's loop is thinner than the fake one.

Some other differences.

Differences on the inside.

thanks.  It doesn't even seem like it would be worth anyone's time to even bother copying Fiio products, esp the e6.  I wonder how many other models are copied.  I just bought an e17 of amazon 2 days ago, I'll have to check who the seller was.

That's the scary part.  If they're willing to clone a $25 amp, they'll clone anything.  Seems we can't be too careful these days.

Does anyone know which models are affected? Is it only the E6 or is the E17 copied too? I have one I've bought for $120 here in the forum but I haven't checked the packaging or anything like that. Now this is somewhat making me worried.

Yes, they are authorized. I've bought an E6 and an E11 from them via Amazon and have been very pleased with their service.
