Hrm... How much is for one cable? (prospective buyer of Pandora Hope IV here)
Though I guess for it to be proprietary it'll be quite a bit too much for me..

Why don't you PM Frank. He'll have various options for cables.

I've compared fibass with pf x and akg 3003 - pf loose only in bass quantity, in all other they win, especially in comparison with 3003. Middles are in highest quality level in pf, better than in earphones of ALL PRICES that I've heard. Fibass are just 30 percent of pf's sound, and 3003 are about 15 percent

I would like to compare pf X with lab II, but no money to buy lab II

Thanks for the comparison. Couple of questions on the PFX. Is the cable detachable on the PF X? Can you elaborate your comparison between the PF X and the Fibass? You said the Fibass is only 30%of PFX, that sounds a little unbelievable. The Fibass is so transparent and raw, it's hard to believe any iems can do better. So, in what way is the PF X 70% better than the Fibass? Soundstage, mid, bass? Also, I thought the PF X is a hybrid with a dynamic bass drive, how can it looses in bass quantity to akg3003?

He must be talking mids with the three earphones. From what I heard the PF series rolls off at both ends no?? Bold statements compared to the other two great earphones imo.

I honestly wouldn't recommend the PF series unless you could audition it. I owned the IX and much has been written about the lineup in this thread. Long story short, they're very esoteric phones that can sound amazing with certain material and terrible with a great many things. Very colored phones for sure with roll off at both ends of the spectrum. They're also super uncomfortable if you've got smaller ears.

I still cant even work out how the piano forte stay in anyones ear

That is very true.  I was told you just rest the phone in your ears loosely.  Wouldn't that fall off easily, what about no seal to your ears?  I have to audition one.

No, but I'm trying to do recabling.

It is difficult to describe in words. I see it like this:
FI-BA-SS

PIANO FORTE X-G:

fibass GREAT headphones for hardstyle and trance, but not for the vocals
Piano Forte - the greatest headphones for vocals, but not for music with lots of bass.

PF is not a hybrid. There is 16 mm. dynamic driver.

The Fibass is so transparent and raw, it's hard to believe any iems can do better.

Yes transparent, but BA driver will never be able to give really good body and good timbre / texture of vocals, which is a dynamic driver.

Female vocals in the Balanced Armature:

Female vocals in the Dynamic driver:

@ninaraduga, thanks for the diagrams, they communicate very well. Yes, I went back and check FAD site and learn that the PF X is all dynamic driver. I am still somewhat surprise that the 16mm dynamic driver cannot produce better/more bass. but sounds like the mid is to die for. Thanks again for sharing.

The reason for that is perhaps because there's no seal to speak of....
