I know that the Shures aren't exactly full size  BUT! I am going to have some money soon, and I found a good price on the AKGs: $84.70 plus 20 bucks shipping. The SE215s always are that price, so i have no idea which one to go for! I would mostly be listening to music like Metallica but I occasionally listen to other genres such as techno and some softer rock. I'm very much a n00b in headphones, but I am looking for something that will not need to be upgraded for quite a while. BTW, I usually would use them on the bus or in between classes.

If anyone has any input, please tell! :D And if you have a recommendation that is not one of those, my max is $100 CAD.

Thanks!

For the sake of portability alone, go with the Shure 215. The AKG K240's are clunky to carry around.

ok thanks! One other question though, would getting an amp, such as the fiio e6, be worthwhile with iems like the shures?

Thanks!

I used to have the SE215, and I would say they (along with most IEMs) don't really need an amp. Still, the e6 is pretty darned cheap to experiiment with.
