Hey guys,
So I'm back in the hunt. I've been enjoying my time playing/living with a few different pairs of headphones for multiple uses.
ATH-AD900 - Gaming
ATH-AD2000 - Music/Movies
Denon D7000 - Music
I've enjoyed them all equally and have nothing but good words to speak about each of these cans.
So I'm looking for a new "daily driver" that will combine the three uses I have.
Gaming
Immersive type games - Guild Wars 2, Skyrim style, Diablo 3, not competitive FPS.
Music
Long or short music sessions when I'm on the computer, these will not be sit down and analyze/knit pick everything about the song sessions but I do want it to sound good.
TV/Movies
Mostly late night I'll hook them up to my receiver and watch TV/Movies
The genre of music I listen to is mostly electronica. However, this does not automatically make me a basshead. While I do listen to a lot of bass-heavy songs (DnB, Dubstep, etc...) the majority of my electronic stuff is down tempo, melodic, deep, and progressive. Lots of synths/pads and what not. I do like my bass tight and pronounced though with a definite presence and kick.
The sound signature I'd like to find is somewhere inbetween my ATH-AD2000s and Denon D7000s. I'm looking for that airy, 3D sounding feeling where you can feel the synths dancing around your head. I'd like the highs to be not to sharp and the mids to be liquid and warm like my ATH-D2000's but with bass that's tight, tone-full, and definitely prominent like my D7000s.
Some cans that I've been looking at are the HE500s and T90. I've also been considering the LCD-2, HE-6 but not sure that I want to spend that kind of money on a daily driver.
My budget is around $500-700 but don't mind spending less or more to find exactly what I'm looking for.
Thanks!
