Try this link.. http://www.bassdrivearchive.com/flashme/   This is from the FX40 thread. I use a 5 hour Drum n Bass compilation. It just beats the poo out of them drivers. Works better than any other method I have used.

Cool, I haven't -really- ever heard burn-in, not in IEM's anyway, for example I was the third owner of a Sony EX700, and then I bought a brand new one and it sounds exactly the same.

I did hear a Vsonic GR07 with ~400 hours burn-in that sounded really good, but that was 6 months between A/B of the other one lol.

To be fair I've never tried your high volume drum'n'bass method, which does make sense..... so I'll give it a shot.  I'll probably layercake some high frequency sweeps, square-waves and houndstooth waves all in there in audacity for good measure. ^^

Did anyone find their local stores, having a big reduction on jvc's?

Most of them were half price, they're really gunning for this section of the market.

Yep, that was my theory, the marketing department at JVC wants a larger slice of cake with prices aimed at the average smartphone user, not an ultra thin slice of cake which is what you get with $200+ IEM's.

It's like opening a cafe, you can sell a lot of coffee for $2 with a free newspaper, or you can sell little coffee for $6 with silverware, marble pillars and talking cats.

Well Kiteki you are gonna have to listen to a track you are very familiar with with these on open box..Then try out some burn in for a couple of days and then go back to that same track. You will definitely be able to tell the difference. These sound so much better after burn in. Mine I think are finally done. To put it simply they have exceeded my expectations for them. Very happy with how these turned out. I was watering the grass last night. Yes I do it at night. Water conservation. Lol. Threw on some vivaldi. Oh my goodness! Watering the grass has never been more exhilarating.

which comply tips work with these?

Cool, thanks, when I go to the Comply site they say the T500 is what should be used on the FXC51 (similar technologically) as well so I think I will get a set and see what I think of them with Foam tips.

Your "kick the crap out of them" method using higher volume beat tracks really does work well with these BTW. I will need to do it for a another night or 3 but so far these are sounding very nice.

These have definitely raised bar in regards to quality for performance ratio. At the rate of improvement companies are making in the mid price point market I am wondering what the impact will be to the high end segment in regards to how much more they can improve on sound quality to justify their higher price points. A few years ago it was easy to justify since they reallt were clearly superior but thos lines have been blurred significantly over the past couple of years.

BTW sitting here listening to these using the large tips and I may try them with these for a few days before buying the comply tips as these are sounding very nice with this monster sized tip plugging up my outer ear. I will see how they work walking around and on the train before deciding. But just sitting these have a larger experience than the smaller tips being pushed in deeper in the canal.

I wonder how these sound versus the TF10?  That would be an interesting review. =)

Edit:  "FI-BA-A1 / ATH CK10 / Vsonic GR07 / Etymotic hf5"  I see you have a few kings of the $100-200 IEM's there gnarlsagan.  Well the CK10 is around $250 but "the TWFK IEM" then. =)

Fun times ahead.
