How can I burn in my headphones? Is it okay if I just play bass heavy songs for 50+ hours like dubstep. Or is there a better way to do this with white/pink noise?
@PurpleAngel Oh thanks tho, instead of a fireplace I used an oven and when I took them out to try them on it wasnt working.... I don't know what happened but it was all crisp and flimsy all of a sudden... What a waste of $80 bucks
Set them up on your laptop/pc with some music (any music) yes you can use bass heavy music too, and play them for about 8 - 12 hours a day or while you're sleeping at a volume just louder then your ears can handle. if you can hear them, wrap them up in an old shirt. Jimmy Hendrix shirts are preferred (not Justin Bieber shirts) they have been known to damage earphones. Let them rest occasionally doing 8 hours a day over a week rather then 72 hours non-stop.
It's all about the ritual, embracing each hour, each minute as they age like fine wine.
Ok, wrap the headphone up in a blanket, stick them in a closet, plug the jack into some thing that can play AC/DC over and over again, like for a few days.
I read a post here about a member who purchased a pair of REO and because they were bass light he used dubstep to burn them in. Apparently his understanding was doing so would give his earphones more bass.
I use a burn-in app on my ipod touch. It's the only free one. It has pink noise and white noise, and you can make profiles for each pair of phones you want to burn it. It's really convenient because you can keep track of how much burn in you've got on your phones. No more wondering whether or not your phones may or may not change.
I only started using this app recently but for kicks set up both pairs of MP8320s i bought and plugged one on all songs random on my ipod and the other with pink noise for 20 hours and white noise for 30.
The app won out for me.
