And congrats on the Cantata of course! What did you upgrade from?

Perfect Wave DACmk2 which is now paired with the Bryston BHA-1. It's nice to have choice!

More pics ...

I had to switch them around because my RCA is only .5 meter long, as you can see...

The blue glow on the EML tubes indicating they haven't been burned in yet.

I have a feeling it's gonna be a while until I give some impressions. Just wanna enjoy the sweet, sweet sounds from this setup.

Have a nice weekend all

I know you like the matched quad Siemens with the LF.  So what's the preferred tubes with the WA22?

I know the EMLs are the ones to go with for the Stratus.

Best WA22 setup EML 5UG4, Sylvania 7236, Hytron 5692/Sylvania 6SN7W.

WA22 is a good amp it's just easy to find better amps for less, not necessarily tube though.  For example I thought the B22 was pretty much a direct drop in for the WA22 load out above for half the price.

Solude knows this because when I sold him my WA22, I highly recommended he pick up my favourite tube compliment with it.

...kinda hard from Toronto. Love to, but career and family make it hard. I'll try to get out to a local meet this year and hopefully someone will have it there.

George from tubesusa.com:  The blue glow that you are seeing in the bottle has nothing to do with the tube needing to be broken in. The color is perfectly normal, although you won't find it on every output tube that you see. The blue color is due to impurities in the metal inside the bottle with stray electrons then bouncing off the glass.

Cool! I love the effect and hope it doesn't go away.

Listening to the Cantata + Stratus/EML + LCD2.1 combination as a type. Very nice and intimate sounding.

Also, I was contemplating about going to a local meet in Toronto. So you may be in luck, Macedonian.

Not sure yet. But I'm keeping an eye out on it to see if it works with my schedule.

To all of you: What is the most "enjoyable" non-ortho, non-slam, headphone you have used with this amp and an OTL if you have an OTL amp. (Mine is an old modified SinglePower MPX3).

@dubstepgirl I would get this amp in a heartbeat over any woo audio product no disrespect to woo but the stratus, from what I've read is everything I at least personally want in a headamp.  I have big respect for donald as a designer (hi donald) and his design philosophy goes hand in hand exactly with what I prefer in my audio products.  Fortunately I'm satisfied with what I've got going now.  I'm forever bound to the taboo due to it's great sound out of both speakers and headphones that I'm very unwilling to give up at this point.  In a dream world I would own this amp with an HE-6 but... alas it would be a little excessive for me to purchase it. I'm a very poor man.

yeah im still looking at WA22 or this (the HE-500 will have to go if i do decide to get either amp, especially if i get the stratus).

if i get WA22 i'd have money for cables + good tubes (most of my tubes are compatible too which is a plus) , if i got stratus, i'd probably be going stock, though the first post seems to say it sounds great even stock.

does the stratus support the 596 rectifier btw?
