So currently I have the following:

Titanium HD soundcard
Beyerdynamic A1 headphone amp and when they come back from repair... Beyer T1s too!

I'm getting rather annoyed with driver issues and this got me thinking about replacing the soundcard altogether with a decent external DAC!

So if you had the T1 and A1, what external DAC would you consider using with them? SPDIF or USB connection is fine.

HRT Streamer / Head Streamer is good in the 150-200 range.

The DAC will need to have phono outputs to allow me to connect the A1 amp - couldn't see these on the few pics of the HRT Streamer / Head Streamer I looked at?

Metrum Acoustics Octave looks interesting, will have to do some reading.

I'd also be interested to see if any of these DACs could do any kind of Dolby sound processing or similar to deal with surround/3d sound for games.

Budget is flexible - anything up to a similar price when compared to the T1s and the A1
