I'm curious.. has anyone heard the AS/G-2 with the Moon Audio Silver Dragon V1 IEM cable?  I bought one (for my JH13).. decided to toss it on the AS-2 tonight.. and.. well...

I'm not one to embellish the (acoustic) effects of cables.. but, wow.

That's the cable I use (courtesy of Jude), mainly because of the length. It certainly is a better cable than stock, but I don't hear a HUGE difference. I do like the effects though, as small as they may be to my ears. Perhaps my ears aren't good enough

I exclusively use one with my AS-2.  I found it to be a worthwhile investment and hits all my main criteria in order: no memory while, uses flat pin housing versus those cylinder shapes, flexible, durable, relatively tangle free, and minor sound improvement). I'm not much of a cable guy, but the Silver Dragon is a product that provided proof for me that there can be a positive acoustical difference between it and the standard iem/ciem cables. Like many, I'm on the fence that difference isn't huge or jaw dropping, but it certainly does help out in the chain.

You've hit all the reasons why I use it. It really is a fantastic cable. The acoustic performance is changed but so minimal that I'm not 100% sure that I can differentiate in a double blind test. I might with the right set up, but with my current portable set up the sonic differences are largely nominal. The other benefits are extraordinary though.

easy peasy, I ripped and pulled and tugged, forged and then cast a magic spell, and whalla! brownies, lol, or er um,

I took a small pair of scissors, and oh so carefully cut the plastic shrink wrap up to the connector, cut around it till it came off, then I bent the guide wire away to the side putting it between the two cables, preferably bend it so that it goes to the outside away from your head, you need to know how the cable will go/position into the IEM, that way the cable moves in to your head while the wire is slightly bent to the outside, minimizing an abrasive point, then take some wire cutters, I used a small pair and cut the wire, you want to cut it in a way the it won't have a sharp edge that will wear thru either of the two cables and then render the cable altogether useless!

and whalla you have brownies? lol, er um I mean a free and uninhibited cable! I love it, like I said it sits so free and nicely, like going comando on your ears, lol,

I don't remember when I posted that, but I have been using it constantly ever since, and still looks great, I'd take some pics of it but for some reason I can't post them?

oh and I thought that the cable would unravel? but it didn't but I am always careful on how I wind it up, if you wanted to you could use some super glue at some point on the cable and that should anchor it nicely!

and whalla an even greater fitting cable!

hope this helps, have fun modding!

  scissors huh ?
i totally agree apart from the plastic bein way to long and dorky there is no need for it and if anything its more uncomfortable i have no idea why they keep making them like this . would there be any pressure/weight put onto the pins/socket?

yep scissors a small pair, and I followed the twist of the cable as to not knick the wires,

and ooh yes a very very very comfortable fit, I think they keep making them like this as it adds to support for removable cables, connected cables are stronger? but whoever made ASGs cable did a great job of it, very very well anchored!

as for any extra pressure? going on 7 months now, so I'd have to say no, that plus I still loop it over my ear so any pressure would be displaced because of that

yes if its your only cable then scary, I had a couple of extra cables so I wasn't so worried, but it worked out great! and I always get a great and easy seal!

I actually like the logo here, except those damn lines make it look like a Wi-Fi product. My real frustration is that I can't immediately think of a way that I could improve it without entirely removing the lines but understand what they represent and their purpose so I wouldn't entirely want to.

/design problems that should be of no concern to me.

More alarming is wording that says my music never sounded so good... But but... What about my ASG-2???

Don't think these are supposed to replace your ASG-2s in any way if you ask me.
