I don't think Sennheiser cans are ugly. But Beyers are definitely more industrial looking. Now the HE400s... those are some ugly cans.

... you crazy! I love the look of the HE-400 and HE-500 xD

The Senn Cans are like Oval-ish and I think that's strange... I do prefer circles <3

I love the look of both the hd650 and he400. I do think the hd650 looks better though, lol. Something about those grills.

Oh... you know what I agree with you actually... I like them both! It's the Senn He600 [not 650] that looks bizzare to me. But the HD800 also looks weird xD

I personally love the marble look of the HD600s. Even more than the plain sparkly dark gray of the HD650s. But I will agree, the HD800s are pretty bizarre looking. They look like a children's toy, to be honest, compared to the T1 which looks like a very classy, industrial, refined piece of hardware.

Hello Head-Fi'ers,

It was suggested that I post in this thread, so sorry for the double post.  Anyone know what size the hex screws that hold the outer ring on the Beyer COP's?  I just received by COP's that I ordered from B&H Photo today and a couple of the screws seem to have rust on them, which kinda hinders the looks.  The headphones appear to be brand new (at least they were supposed to be), no signs of opened box or wear.  It looks like I can order a replacement screw set from Beyerdynamic, but I don't want to pay the $15 flat rate shipping.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

BTW, the headphones sound great!!!

For anyone interested I found out that the hex screw (cap head screw) size is M2.5 x 5.  I went to local Fastenal shop and bought 10 for less than $2; much cheaper than ordering from Beyer.

They have quite a bit of punch to them, and they go fairly low while still maintaining body. The DT880 has that extended textured bass but it's more airy, not quite as "full" as the COPs.

Are they comfortable as well?  And how do they perform with EDM?  I'm looking to replace my Ultrasone DJ1.

They're really comfortable. Not on the level of DT880s, but almost nothing is. The bass is amazing with EDM, especially with brosteppy-like stuff that uses a lot of midbass instead of subbass. One example is "Saturn" by Kill The Noise. That song is just amazing on the COPs. They're not as airy or resolving as I'd like them to be, but that's the tradeoff you make. The 3rd position with the sliders is just pure awesome bass.

Isolation is pretty good. They might leak a little if you crank em up but it's definitely pretty decent. Go easy on your ears though, don't you want to enjoy music into your late years?

Also these are not purely midbass cans, they have a subbass rolloff but they're not planar, what do you expect? They go fairly low and rumble the cups easily.
