Are these RCA cables? And where can I get an extension cable?

I just bought some new computer speakers and found that the cable that goes from the satellite to the subwoofer is too short for my needs, so I'm looking for some sort of extension cable.

Below are some pictures. Am I correct in assuming that the cable is an RCA cable?

If so, is this a good extension cable?

I would be interested in something higher-end with good shielding and higher gauge than that $3.39 cable. Does anyone have a pointer to a better cable?

The other end of the cable is wired directly into the satellite speaker. I am not an electrician and do not want to try to replace it.

One of your links is to a male-to-male cable. So I would need a female-to-female adapter to use that cable as an extension, right?

Most Subwoofer LFE connections require RCA cable. You can use RG6 quad shield coax with F to rca connector without issue.
Just make sure you use 75 ohm cable. That looks like a standard RCA connector btw.

Those look like subwoofer cables; and am I correct in assuming that subwoofers with RCA connectors are always male to male?

I'm actually looking for an extension RCA cable (female to male) because one end of my original cable is permanently fixed to a satellite speaker.

If you email these guys and tell them your requirements they'll make you one to which ever cable-spec you choose, they have served me well in the past and re-terminated cables for me when I changed amps..... all their stuff in guaranteed for life & customer service is second to none.

They are a UK company so allow for a time difference in emails in your not here in UK.

it was a sub-woofer cable and yes mostly m-m but you can have one end terminated differently ie if you have a balanced connection or other.

ps..... I only use Chord cables in my hi-fi set up (see profile) and I'm trying to convince their cable designer into making portable cables.... I'll be starting a thread on that very soon.

You can use a sub cable with simple rca barrel connector (must be 75ohm so component video barrel connector will work)
