i just  bought a Ps500. As a music lover, i also own PS1000, GS1000, RS1i and Denon Ahd-7000.

PS500 are great headphones. what a great headphone they are.

Why does John sell them in a price lower than RS1i and Mpro?
In my opionPS500 actually  keep the 80% of PS1000.

PS1000 are super good and the best and with a larger scale about everything compared to PS500.
PS 500 keep the essence of PS1000.
but I control myself not to listen to them often.
i prefer to listen to a more normal phone daily and from time to time listening to Ps1000 will keep me the freshing feeling.

in my opinion, Ps500 should be obove RS1i and Mpro.
Rs1i is good. But ps500 is overall-good and more nueturl and suitable for all kind of music.(same as ps1000)

compared to Mpro. i feel Ps500 is more nuetural also.
Mpro is not really like grado sound and they are very smooth ,soft and vocals sounds younger and more alike.
you can feel the Mpro is trying to please you, flater you.Ps 500 is not.
they are straight-foward and be good as they are. very honest.

Generally, Ps 500 and Ps1000 are good at anything.
But not very suitable for some slow music.
you will feel the music moves too fast and lost patience.
ahd-7000 is much better.
If you listen to some slow OST like James horner's"legend of the fall" "brave heart"or John Barry's "out of africa", "dance with wolves","somewhere in time"
Denon Ahd-7000 are much more musical in those slow symphony
even though not as clear as PS's.
