Rockit Sounds R-50 Reviews and Impressions
Apr 23, 2012 at 6:20 PM Post #106 of 1,205
@Techno Kid   Did you ever try other tips with the R-50? I really recommend that you try some triple flangers, either Ety or Shure's versions.
It gives the possibility for a much deeper insertion than the stock tips, although I will say the stock tips are pretty decent, but the possibility of the deeper insertion and a better seal that the triple's can provide you will or may hear as almost a whole step up in sound quality.

A friend of mine received his R-50 today after I recommended them to him last week and he has posted  a review on Amazon  http://www.amazon.com/Monitor-Balanced-Armature-Earphones-Earbuds/dp/B005XSBNG4/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1335219376&sr=1-1

Yea I tried other tips in the Sony hybrids and a triple flange and it didn't give me any better SQ or a better seal, the stock tips work great for me and I can get a deep seal with them.

Thats cool about your friend and I'm glad he likes them, how could he not though :)

I really hope theres some people hear that give them a try, I've recommended them so time will tell.

I'm still just listening to them and haven't touched any of my other IEM's, I think I'm going to start selling some because I have to many now.

You don't need them all now that you have the Rock It!

I wonder if there's any other HF members who have ordered these? I can count that four people have bought them since I purchased my pair a month ago and I know who two of them are!

Hopefully will see some impressions from others in here soon.

I do hope that others will give these a shot. I have a pair of reshelled DBA-02, same TWFK dual driver as R-50 uses. I have tried "tuning" it plenty of times with several types of foams that have different density, using more or less amount of foam, rolling it in different odd and weird shapes even included daily prayers to higher sources, but I still can't quite achieve the sound of the R-50!

The acoustic filter that is implanted fairly deep in the nozzle so I can't quite see what it is, but I have a vague idea. My conclusion is that Rock It have IMO, and only, certainly manage to find a acoustic filter that works really well with the this dual driver TWFK  and maybe, only maybe, manage to get a presentation out of this driver that is better than what I so far have experienced and another great addition is that the R-50 is very reasonable priced.

Where did you get your R-50?  Was it through Amazon.com or directly from their website, or some other site?

We all ordered them through Amazon and it was lightning fast shipping from HK to the US.

At Amazon.com website it says that they would be shipped from TN, United States.  Was the same shipping info posted at Amazon's website when you ordered them?

Yes it was the same info and I was of course very surprised when I received the tracking# and it indicated that they were shipped from HK and feared the worst (3 weeks or such) but as posted and what a few others have experienced they arrived within a 3-5 days.

Thank you Jupiterknight and Techno Kid!

Was the package an envelope or was it a box?  Was the package much bigger than the content?

You might be wondering why I am asking these questions.  I am overseas right now and I have the choice to order them to be delivered to the US where they will be shipped to my overseas location, for a variable fee depending on the shape and size of the package.  I also have the choice to have it directly mailed to my location if I order directly from the Rock It Sounds website (http://rockitsounds.com/shop/) for the same price of $119.99, including shipping.  However, a packaged mailed from HK to my location might be stopped at customs, which is no big deal because import fees are small or just not charged at all, but it ads work and other costs to the delivery process because the customs office is one hour away from where I live.  Ordering to the US address will surely keep it from going through customs when shipped to my location.

I've ordered a pair of R-11's and R-50's for fun. I'm currently holding on to a pair of B2's and Klipsch X10's, so yeah i'll do some impressions if I have the time!

Since you're overseas I assume that you prefer cm's!
The size of the box is around 20 cm x 12 cm x 4cm. It was in an envelope kind of package and  a few more centimeters larger on all three sides. Total weight was maybe around 200 gram.
