ask me about my $500 pencil holder sometime), so we're finally getting started in earnest. I'm thinking we'll do one of these, start to finish, every 12-24 months, depending on the complexity.

12-24 months? Wow, that must be one he11uva pencil holder!! :p

A day off! Woohoo!

Speaking of Singer....

Congrats on the day off. I was lucky enough to enjoy the day off yesterday but ended up spending it at the Dr's office and the At&t store getting a new phone :frowning2:

Speaking of your Singer, been putting any miles on it? Still love it as much as when you took delivery? I am not at all a 911 fan, but I would take one of those in a heartbeat. They really hit it out of the park with that design.

I've put 1500 miles on it, maybe more. I don't really think about mileage with very limited release cars, because no matter how much I drive them they'll continue to appreciate in value, so long as I don't smash it to bits. But then, how many times has Mr Bean trashed his Mac F1? 3, 4 times? Plus he's put 100k miles on it. But, I guarantee if he were to offer it up tomorrow it would still fetch over $10M.

Pics of the Dauer please. Mechanical porn right here folks with those wide tyres.

It's a kit, not a real McCoy. I had a shot at a real Dauer but the owner and I couldn't meet up on a price.

Pics of the pencil holder too Magick, finish the tease and show us the goods☺

It was supposed to be a carbon fiber ignition coil housing but it went horribly wrong.

I'm curious, why is this the case? Those seem like unneeded pieces of HW. What if there were many small, computer controlled air & fuel injection ports to provide very precisely timed ignitions as the rotor rotates through the compression zone? So instead of 1 or 2 ignitions (my 12A had leading & training spark plugs), there would be an entire series of small power inputs to the rotor. I'm not sure how the exhaust gases would affect the next ignition in the chain - that might be a big problem.

The US knows absolutely nothing about Aussie vehicles. Falcon? Holden? You have an entirely different universe down there! :D

Where I come from, a Ford Falcon looks like this:

:p

You'd probably know more about this than I do. F1 uses computerised valves, actuated not by mechanical cams but by pneumatics or solenoid with a PWM digital signal I think...you are implying something with the same function as a camshaft.

No mas produced engine I know of use camless valves...but variable cam timing is common and variable valve lift is available with mass produced engines. For those not sure...its a way of controlling intake and exhaust overlap in different rev ranges...because the faster the RPM the less time the gasses have to move in or out.

But I'm with you guys. I would hate to see the German invented Rotary engine die out. The banning of this awesome engine from Lemans almost seems...lets just say that us older buggers should really see an early grave due to our inherent resistance to change (when I say old I mean people over 30 - also the only logical solution to over population if one is inclined to believe that such a problem exist in direct contradiction to Sir David Attenborough).

P.S. That is the Ford Falcon that came to Australia way back...and when you guys discontinued this model....we made them ourselves.

OOOOO Yeah. Hammertime!

I wonder what former F1 driver had it built? Awesome example of the ultimate sedan.

they want 90,000 Euros... I don't think my counter offer will be well received.

Their reasoning? There's only 12 Hammer coupes with a stick.

By the time something as rare as a manual Hammer hits BaT, there's no chance of getting a good deal on it. The sellers know they have all the exposure they need to get full asking price.

By the way, I'm also rooting for a photo of this failed pencil holder project.

I think I would contact the Skymall people that do the in-flight shopping magazines. Those $500 carbon fiber pencil holders would sell like hotcakes!

It's at least as good as the Bacon Genie...
