Yes, both have the zif connector, both use PATA.
That said, you will need a new back cover as the 240GB drive is thicker.
I think it's the back cover of the iPod video you need.
I ordered the back cover of the 6th gen 160GB iPod Classic but that one won't fit the 160GB 7th gen, so I ordered the wrong one.
I think I will sell my 240GB drive off again though as it won't work with my 120GB 6.5 gen.
I would need to buy a new iPod classic 160GB but I think it will cost less if I sell the drive and the 120GB iPod and get me a Chinese ready made 240GB iPod.
If you already have a 160GB 7th gen iPod I can provide you the right 240GB drive and help you look for the cover. You would need to do the modding yourself though, I won't risk breaking someone elses gear.
If you don't I'd advise against it and I can give you the link to the ready made Chinese ones.
