As I said before in a slightly different question regarding this card I'm not a huge PC listener yet and at this time I'm only using the SBLive! as a digital transport. The Cambridge S700 DAC with the Behringer console although not great is not entirely terrible.

My question is quite simple. Just how bad is the SBLive! with Live! Drive as an optical / coaxial transport in the grand scheme of things, with 44.1 / 48 data? Really bad? Mediocre? Not bad?

Well I'm not sure about the SB Live, but I used a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz as a transport into a Cambridge DAC3 a while back now, and that resamples to 48KHz too. I seem to recall that I could not tell any difference between using the TBSC or my Pioneer DV-350 DVD player as a transport, which I know definitely did not resample. Well ok, maybe there was a difference, but it was so subtle as to be not worth worrying about.

Then again though, I dont know how the SB Live compares with a TBSC.
