So I have this case on my iPhone 4s (Speck Candyshell) and am getting a pair of M50s soon, and I am pretty sure the plug on the m50s will be too big to fit through the case (meaning I would have to take off my case everytime I listened through my iphone). SOO I was wondering... would it be possible to connect a fiio L3 LOD (or I guess any LOD) from the iPhone straight to the headphones? (with a female to female adapter of course). Or would this take away form my ability to adjust the volume from the iphone? If this doesn't work I guess it will just be my insentive to go ahead and buy a fiio e7 Thanks in advance!

It won't work because when you are using the dock with a LOD cable, it bypasses the iPhone's internal AMP.
