Could you please listen here and see: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=tASSU5_2jvc#t=229s Does this music make any rattling sounds in your headphones?

On mine, when the heavy sound comes in right around 3:50 my right ear-cup starts to rattle. I would really like to pin-point if this is a problem with just my headphones, and if I should send them in.

I have been hearing this rattling recently, although less than what I noticed when listening to this song. When I came back to other songs that I heard it before I couldn't hear it, so I figured it may have been a psychological thing.....but this is too obvious to be a fake.

On another note, what would cause a monitor to make any sort of rattle sound?

I'd like to help you out - which way did you come in?

Seriously though, the sound in all likelihood would depend on how loud the volume they're being played at.

It could also be a hair in the voice-coil.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean... I listen to them at what I believe to be a fairly reasonable volume; around 50-60%

However when I turn the volume down to 25% or lower, I can still faintly hear the rattle. I guess the next thing to do is send it to Audio Technica and have them try to fix it... :frowning2:

Thanks for your help!

I hear distorting just little on both cups on my D7000, ironically. That file is very low quality anyway.

There is some distortion (static noise?), yes. I heard that in the M50, too. But I couldn't hear anything rattle. Isn't rattling different from static?

Yeah, i picked up on the static noise, but i am sure its embedded in the audio file. I definitely don't hear rattling.
