Can't wait to hear what you think of these. Did you actually go there and take a tour? The owners are really nice. I have been going back and forth on on getting some CIEM.

I live about twenty minutes away. Marc, from Alclair, was at the last local meet with some universals versions of his line.

I haven't seen the facility. I hear it's great. It sounds like my RSMs will be done this week and I hope I get a chance to see the place.

I live really close as well and just randomly stopped in there and they gave the grand tour of every step from start to finish. They epwere even willing to get me fitted right there on the spot. It was a great time, if and when I get some customs this will be the place I get them from..

Did you sample any of their lineup? I had a poor fit with the RSMs and they still managed to make my w4r's sound muddy.

Yep, I tried there whole line up. Until they are fit to your ear its hard to judge. all I could do is tell them what I want as far as sq goes. The ones you are getting are the ones I would pick also. I'm sure you will be happy with them.

This was about a year ago, I would not want give any impressions as its been to long. You could call them and they would be more than happy to tell you how each one would sound like or closely resemble one that you may have listened to before.

I see this is your first post and you have been a member for a year. That is a long time with out posting. Do you live in Minnesota?

That's cool

I've been asking them about the sound, and would love other people's opinion .

Nah, I live on the other end of the world, Australia
Aclair got one distributor here which make them the most convenient and affordable CIEM I could get here

Yes, I've been lurking around, for a while...

I just picked up my Alclair RSM's.

I intended to do a detailed comparison of these to my W4rs.  They are my only reference point right now anyhow.

After five minutes of listening though, this is going to be difficult (even through my iPhone).  I may have to wait a week so that i can articulate my thoughts appropriately without sounding like I am bashing the westones.  My W4rs are great, I love them.  But they are not in the same league with these Alclair RSMs.

Can't wait to here what you think of these. Are they just amazing so far or is it new toy syndrome. Are they really comrtable being they are custom molded to your ears?

I would like to think that I'm not overly susceptible to the new toy bias.  For example, I hated my westones for about a week after I received them.  Although I just got a Schiit Loki, and I cannot stop drooling over it.

I'll hammer out a nice comparison this weekend.  I think it'll take a couple days for my brain to adjust to having bass again anyway.

So I just got back from vacation and discovered on the return flight that my Heir Audio 4A's disappeared at some point during the trip.  I'm truly bummed and have just about exhausted all avenues of finding them so now have the task of deciding how to replace them.  I absolutely loved the 4A's but am unsure I want to spend quite as much money (their actual cost isn't too bad but the design options can add up quickly and I have a hard time resisting them).  Has anyone that has or has listened to 4A's also listened to Reference Custom or RSM Quad Custom?  I'd be curious to hear a comparison.

Thanks.

I'm uncertain about 4A's, but if I rember correctly tf1216 can compare his RSM quads to his JH13s.

I had the Livewire Trips, which I'm not 100% if it's still tuned the same with the same drivers and configuration as the Reference, but if it is, the 4A is a better sounding ciem in terms of wider stage, and better micro details.  The only area that I recall that the Reference may had bested the 4A is with bass quantity.  I recall the 4A sounding much more musical over the Trips.  I hope that helps some.
