Those are kinda neat. The wife would like them in raspberry, I'll bet.

They're supposed to sound awful.  Put some ortho drivers in there for her.

God love her, she really can't tell much of a difference between what sounds good and what doesn't. She doesn't like most of my headphones because she feels there are too many "high notes". I had to setup the EQ on her system to remove just about all sound above 10kHz so that her HD598s don't annoy her.

Is anyone selling it around the 1500-1700 dollar range?

Nope.

PriceJapan had the lowest price at $1750, but it has subsequently gone back up to $2000. You're not going to find them for less than $1700, even used in Japan according to some head-fiers who live there.

I know - hence I've modified my statement to state around the 1700 dollar range.

How is the sound compared to the ATH-W3000ANV or D7000? My apologies for possibly asking a question which might have been previously asked.

Moon Audio often runs a 10% off special, that would make the TH900 just $1800 w/ free shipping. You may have to wait just a little while, but probably about the same as waiting for them from a vendor in Japan.

Do they actually have it in stock?

Don't seem to, but you can call Drew and find out. He's a good guy, he'll steer you right.

No, it's not in stock at Moon just yet. We've got someone here who pre-ordered with them. Also definitely e-mail Drew at Moon Audio first asking if discount codes apply.

I recall seeing a post where it was mentioned the discount codes at Moon Audio do not apply to the TH900 despite going through and deducting the amount at check out (just like it says the TH900 is 'in stock' when it's not yet).

Always best to check first.

Re: comparisons with the D7000 and W3000ANV ---> Hopefully I'll get them up by this weekend. ....Hopefully.

Recently, I gave my girlfriend a listen to my D7000. She doesn't want to give it back to me. Guess it's really time to get the TH900?

Unless there is another surprise to come, Moon Audio charged my credit card $1799 (which is 10% off) plus shipping when I used the discount code then shown at the site (which offered 10% off all headphones over $399 but is no longer there now). There was no indication that the code did not apply to the TH900.

That's awesome, hopefully they don't do something silly like say they made a mistake and have to charge you more..

I had an opportunity to hear Jude's pair and you should seriously consider getting them if you like the D7000. To me, it fixes the shortcomings of the D7000 (mainly peaky treble resonances) while retaining its lushness. The TH900 still has a U curve response, but it's much slighter than the D7000s. Bass also seems more even. Construction, little details, and earpads are superior to the D7000. Very nice luxury product.

Thanks a lot for the Qualia versus TH900 impressions !

Seems like the former is love/hate and the latter is like/like.

Or so I was convinced for 5 minutes...
