Just curious. What does that awesome square wave tell us?

Speed (particularly noticeable in the bass). The stronger magnets are clearly responsible for this.
The earpad construction instead seems similar to the denons, hence similar FR (with due variations).
THD is higher than I expected, though, but nowhere as bad as ATH, but I dont understand the reason of this.

I also do NOT believe at the LF response, but I havent heard a TH900 yet.

I'm thinking the more powerful magnets may be causing that too, the T1 doesn't exactly have great THD numbers either.

Just heard these today for the first time....I have not read this thread, just happened to get a chance to hear these increadible HP's.
Verdict....I love everything about them...Gorgeous colour, Great Build , Quality all throughout all the way down to the cable.
Wasnt crushing my head Very soft comfy pads wich seemed like air cushions fitting snuggly on the ears.
I was knocked out by what Looked to me as a closed back HP but with an open feel, and That Bass slam wow, those crisp details......Im very impressed.....Fostex have a really great HP here, they should be commended..

Hello, Fostex owners! =)
Some questions. Is this headphones good to listen classical chamber/orchestral music? Or they are better (or maybe best?) with heavy music, like nu-metal/industrial metal and etc.? =)
And what do you think about the level of voice reproduction (emotionality, timbre accuracy, realism)? In comparison to STAX, Sennheiser, Audez'e or something in this league.

Sorry, but the 900 square waves strikes me as odd and less than ideal at both 50/500hz (if they were to actually translate into anything).  The HD800 kills the 900 in mid to upper bass speed and the LCD2/3 does the same in the low bass.  As nice as the TH900s are to listen to at no point did I ever find myself saying they have the best bass of any dynamic phone ever.

I still think they could use some modding.

+2, that said I can't think of another stock phone I'd prefer despite its flaws.

Timbral accuracy is too poor for wide-range classical instruments which extend down (cello, viola, piano, bassoon, etc.). Vocal reproduction has issues with male and lower registers of female voices lacking foundation or fullness. Bass is excessive, although clean. Treble has a sharp spot. Because of the TH900s clarity and speed, there's great sense of realism and immediacy. My standard operating procedure has been to EQ the TH900. Despite its flaws, I still think its one of the best dynamics (including orthos) around.

What amp/amps are you guys using for the TH900?

I found the Yamamoto HA-02 works very well with the TH900, the WA6 less so.  SPL Phonitor is also reasonable for it (I thnk Muppetface did mentioned that).

I wonder if anyone actually have experience running it with the HP-A8?

X2.. I am actually waiting for more review with hpa-8c. Seems like canfly is the only headfier who has it, can't seem to find any more review as of yet.

Had a feeling markl mod will release a LA900.. Just random guessing

Hopefully not. I don't think dubious mods are going to help the TH900 any. I wouldn't want to see those nice Fostex cups replaced with crapper markl cups. The TH900's bass doesn't need special Dynamat treatment either. Nor do the fine pads need replacement with special angled pads which are probably only going to make the treble issues worse.

Those "flaws" are so fun that I am selling the lesser flawed LCD-3.

Who said the LCD-3 is any less flawed?

Just scared to read that...

I am a classical lover and hope to like the TH900 with classical music...
