ATH-M50 sound leakage?

I'm looking to buy a set of headphones which will be used in part for home recording, laying one track, listening to it while recording the next etc. I've head nothing but good things about the ATH-M50's but I'm just wondering whether they will keep enough sound IN so as not to end up with metronomes or existing tracks being picked up while recording? Any input would be thoroughly appreciated :)

Can't help much here...only had them just a little while but I've found the sound isolation to be pretty decent for me.

i have several pairs of closed phones, dt770, dt250, ultrasone 580, and my m50 hardly leaks even at high volume. i use mine at work and even at low volume (1/4 bar on iPod classic) it drowns out all outside noise and hardly leaks.

I will add that I do not get any sound leakage from mine running at reasonable volumes.  These phones are really good, for me at least, at isolating the outside world.  Finally, when I first got them I let one of my playlists run on repeat overnight and I had the volume up much higher than I would comfortably listen and I couldn't hear anything from a few feet away.

Excellent! Looks like I'll be getting a pair. Thanks very much for the comments
