Hello,

I'm buying Marantz PM6004 and KEF Q300. For the moment I will have them on Realtek 889 highend motherboard. It has "coaxial and optical S/PDIF out ports" but I don't have any cables and I don't know much about these things. Can someone help me with these questions:
- What cables I will get with PM6400?
- What cables I will get with Q300?
- Are there any other cables that I need to get apart from what I will get with PM6400 and Q300?
- Are there any cables that you think I SHOULD get anyway?

With last question I mean, will I get cables that will give me best possible sound out of the system, perhaps also with planning for the future slightly, with adding either DAC or soundcard?

Thanks for advice.

P.S. Ok there is one more mini question. What kind of headphones are good to use with PM6004? I have some basic SRH840 but I am thinking about getting also something else. Is there something special I need to be considering, because it's not a dedicated headphone amp?

I don't think you PM6400 has inputs to accept coaxial and optical S/PDIF output. You will probably need to add a Stereo Audio Cable - 3.5mm Male to 2x RCA Male to connect your sound card to your amp. You would need to buy speaker wire to connect the speaker to your amp.

Get at least a 16 gauge speaker wire or up to 12 gauge speaker wire at your desired length. (The lower the number, the thicker the wire).

Spdif and coax are digital formats. The thing a amp does is amplifing a signal. If you want to use Spdif, coax or usb you need to buy a dedicated DAC(digital/analog converter). Your motherboard has one of those onboard and you can use the analog signal of it to feed your amp(as VCR hifi proposes).
You won't get any cables with the Q300. Where are you buying your equipment: the fricking Zoo

. You need to buy speaker cables seperatly. Any cable with two veins will do but for good cables you need to empty your wallet.

You'll get a standard power cable with your amp. But you need to buy RCA cables.

You can find the anwsers to these kind of questions within 2min on google. You should not ask them on a forum. The last question isn't even in English.

Of you want to spend money on cables this is what I recommend:
power cable: Supra LoRad 2.5
interlink: W&M AC-01
Speaker cables: Naim Nac A5

That will give you a nice warm/acoustic feeling with lots of air and a wider soundstage. Will cost you about 250euro's.

That's pretty cheap. A dedicated cd player would be better than a dac due digital filtering and jitter IMO. Any dedicted DAC would be a huge upgrade from your motherboard. I am not very much a advocate of soundcards but you should figure that one out by yourself.

Your amp might come with rca cables but not speaker cables,
Analog cables here, http://www.monoprice.com/products/subdepartment.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10218 , you might need 3.5mm to stereo rca or stereo rca to stereo rca.

This speaker cable should be fine http://www.amazon.com/Belkin-AV23002-25-25-Foot-18-Gauge-Speaker/dp/B0001XGQQS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1328207751&sr=8-1 unless you are planning on long runs over 2metres.

LOL that will give you a debt of around 250 euros and some placebo if your lucky.

Thank you very much for your helpful answers. I bought the cables you've mentioned and it all works perfectly. You were right, no cables were included.

Oh, I do apologize. May I suggest translate.google.com next time you find part of a post written in different language? I find the site  quite useful.
