These are the musical versions of the CKM77s if that make sense. Similar detail the CKM77s are overall cleaner and more detailed but what is on the CKS77 will have a thicker more roomier sound. You might even find yourself preferring these over your CKM77s. Now these are bassy but in a musical way and none of that boomy crap that gives you a head ache..The bass is very refined in these. These won't be for guys that are looking for a more neutral sound presentation but man these are immersive. Live concerts sound stupendous on these. The sense of space and sound positioning is truly awesome.

I will take your word for it, I might even like it, I want to understand how bass sounds, and how refined it should be. I've always heard boomy ones, which is why I don't like this sense of feeling, maybe I can finally understand how subwoofers SHOULD sound. Thanks for your intake, and now I believe I understand what you meant. I wish the ckm77s were roomy too :frowning2:. And that means the instrument seperation is easier, doesn't it?

I was listening to a live performance of Earth Wind and Fire this morning using my CKS77s. The back ground singers when they clap I can hear the natural reverb that is created in the stage recording. My lesser iems just can't pick up detail like that. Vocals have clear definition over the instruments. This aluminum dampening they use in the housing much like the A900X and the CKM77 helps in this. I was also listening to Metalica some metal after wards and guitars have a thickness/ meatiness that is on a new level on these. Much more fuller sounding without being muffled adds to the power of the note. It is mind blowing.  The more and more I hear the CKS77 the more there is to like about them.

Alright, time to follow DSnuts again! I'm going to pick up a ckm77 or a cks77(haven't decided which yet) and sell off my CKM50s in the FS thread.

Both are excellent. If you want a much more refined CKM50 the CKS77. If you want to hear what a higher end AT sound is all about the CKM77.  Both are worth the cash. The CKS77 obviously has the full on sub like bass and the CKM77 has great everything but much more neutral sounding and has the best detail. That being said the detail on the CKS77 is not lacking one bit for a bassy earphone. I am very much enjoying my CKS77 at the moment.

I'm cringing....I just reread what amazon stated on these cks77s. IS IT REALLY titanium housings? :S I would LOVE to know if that is true, please dsnuts! Please tell me it is a titanium housing! :frowning2: I never had anything with the word titanium in it! Also, I understand what you're saying now, looks like they do a very fine job with the seperation, no bleeding in frequencies, and best of all is the clean sound that comes out from the earphones. So it is thick with guitars eh? I wonder how that sounds...

The guitar riffs in metal has a fullness to sound. If the same guitar riff was to be heard using the CKM77 the sound would be more sharp and edgy that comes clean the difference is the CKS77 expand on the same clean sound but more fuller sounding. You can make out the thickness of the riff.I suppose you can say that there is more depth to the sounds this explains why you can hear little details with their corresponding sound effects on the tune. You have to hear it. Well it does say titanium in the descriptions it is a lighter weight metal housing and will have a same effect on the dampening as aluminum me thinks.  Titanium even more expensive material and is only used on top end AT stuff. I believe you are right titanium it is. This explains why these are not short on detail..

Just wondering Ds, what do you think of this song with those cks77s? I am using this on the a900x since I have my love for it back, and it is somewhat 3d-ish with these. Since yours is dual chamber, I would love to know how many things sound and how the attack, decay, and detail the earphones have with this. I understand what you're getting at now, I will get the earphones maybe this week I hope. It is great to let us know how you hear them.

Help, guys! Something awful happened to my CKM-50's! :frowning2: I left them in a friend's car one day, and when I picked them up, both of the wires connecting to the phones were smashed, and as a result, one of them hardly gives any sound anymore. Here's a picture:

Does anyone have any tips to remedy this?

Looks like your cables were bent. Someone must have sat down/placed something heavy on them while they were folded. In that respect the CKM55s are better because they use more durable cables.

That indentation looks too sharp/pointed to be a big heavy object. Check your car for dog/cat hair

These would not survive if an animal bites them; they're way too fragile. If you try bending your cable completely you'll see a similar indentation.

Take a shot at recabling them. I love these headphones but hate the cable.

Would highly recommend against recabling them. The rubber strain relief would have to be removed and the entire shell taken apart, which doesn't look very easy to put back together or take apart to begin with.
