What's the difference?

The M80 has a flat sound with the highs rolled off, more than the m100. M100 has more detail, soundstage, but has a bass emphasis. I really like both of them :D

It's a little more intricate than that :p  The M80 has a warmer overall sound with a focus on the midbass and rolled off upper highs.  The M100 has a v-shape which somehow produces almost similar detailing in the midrange but outdoes the M80 in the treble and bass. I did a deeper comparison between the two in this thread.  Kind of felt like I got shunned after I did it, so I've been on and off this thread ever since.

Would you say you can more or less get the same sound signature by equalizing them. If not which would you say it's better including the possibility of equalizing them to your musical taste.

@craigster: you own both, the ue6000 and m100. i had both and still own the ue. when do you use which of them? or when do you prefer the m100 over the ue? did you get to listen to the yamaha pro 500`?

I actually returned the UE6000.  After owning both, they just sounded to dark in comparison to enjoy after hearing the M-100.  I never auditioned the PRO 500.  My primary headphone is the Ultrasone Signature DJ, but I get a great deal of portable use from my M-100 and they sound similar enough that they are still enjoyable and satisfying.
