lol. I would like a good case to go with the DX100 as well and possibly a screen protector.

I spent an hour looking for a carbon fiber case for it.  Did not succeed.

DX100 belt and travel cases that work very well and are extremely well made. The cost of each is 15 dollars. I found the travel case at Best Buy here in the US and the belt case at REI but the belt case can be bought on line from the manufacture at 1 dollar cheaper. The belt hook on the belt case rotates with extremely positive stops and is incredibly strong.

Personally...I find these cases to be fine...leather is not going to protect as well.  This looks like heavy duty nylon...much tougher and wears like iron.

If this group was to do anything to encourage manufacture of a case...I would approach the makers of these cases and ask them to make something specifically for DX100...perhaps a carry case that could store as well as be used when playing the unit.

Or just suggest it to IBasso...they might be thinking of it anyway.

I agree. They can take a tremendous amount of abuse and I doubt they will show any wear. I used to make very fine leather items for a living and I enjoy the look and feel and it does have a nice appearance once broken in some but it will be much more expensive and in the long run, will not hold up as well. So much leather now days is poorly tanned and you don't know this until you put it to real use but it is a an option without doubt. Imagine a nice black leather case with a medium hand that after a few months has that look quality.

Thing is, Norêve only builds custom cases if there is enough demand.

I'd asked them for custom cases for Hi-MD Walkmans in the time, namely for the MZ-RH1. Many members on the now defunct MiniDisc.org were very interested, but Norêve didn't think there would be a large enough client base.

I doubt the DX100 will fare any better, unless their approach has changed.

Also, Norêve leather cases aren't made of just leather, but layers of leather with hard plastic in between to give extra protection to the device it holds. Again, it would be awesome if we could get them to make a case.

iBasso's reply to my email, a while ago:

"Hi,
thank you for your new year wish and suggestion.
we don't have a plan to make a leather case. But I think a third party company would make this if the sales of the DX100 are good.

Sincerely
iBasso Audio"

A leather case sounds nice - I would buy one for sure.

I'm trying to find out which cans synergise best with the DX100. Could anyone who owns or has heard the DX100 chime in with what cans they believe synergise really well.

I'm thinking about buying edition 8's or RS1i's for it.

Here is the answer to my question on the DX100 directly from Ibasso - "Hi,
The DX100 has much more output power than your D2. Where your D2 is 74mW at 16ohm, the DX100 has more than 1000mW at 16ohm. The output power of the DX100 is even higher than our P4. Sincerely iBasso Audio"

I wonder if the DX100 could handle more than a 32GB card. If not, if it's only a software block. If it's able to handle more memory than a 32GB card, it may be conceivable to create some type of case with a ribbon cable coming from a plastic SDHC shell that connects to a layer between the case and the DX100 with multiple cards plugged in. It would make it possible to use less expensive cards together and would make the DX100 able to store lots of data, making it much more portable. Even if the DX100 cannot support more than 32GBs SDHC cards, a solution like this with a switch to select which card is being used without having to mess around with a small card would be amazing.

I hope my idea came through, and if anyone is interested, PM me and if I get enough interest I'll start looking into the parts and work up mockups if it wouldn't cost much to implement. My only concern would be making sure data accuracy was not lost with this process, and that it didn't introduce any issues with playback. This is why I thought it being integrated into a case would be best, to reduce movement of the cable and ensure some type of consistency between different users in how the product would be used.

It has been said earlier in the thread that the DX100 most likely can read a 64g card if it is format correctly and with a good brand like Sanddisk. however because of the cost, most people are still staying with 32g until price comes down. I have asked before for confirmation of the 64g card and no one has tried yet. I am willing to be the first one to try when I receive my DX100. Does anyone know is MicroSD the same as MicroSDHC? I think the sdhc is the high capacity version and should be able to use with microSD slot. Please enlighten me if I am wrong.

MicroSDXC is what goes over 32GB. MicroSDHC goes up to 32GB.

why would you need 64 gigs internal and 32 gigs and still need more? Why not have 4 more cards with you? How long do you have in a day to hear 96 gigs of music?
