I have narrowed it down to a few selections. As of right now, I am leaning towards the M-Audios BX5a. I have also been considering the KRK Rokit G2, but they are noticeably more expensive; M-audios BX5a = $150 and the KRK Rokit G2 = $150 FOR ONE, so $300 for a set.
I would also like to add a subwoofer since I do consider myself a "basshead" and listen to a lot of bass heavy genres. Haven't really done much research on subs, so maybe you guys can help me out here. Although, I've heard good things about this Dayton sub and it is fairly cheap. http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=300-633
I was also considering just getting some Dayton bookself speakers since I also see people recommending those. Not sure how they compare to the monitors speakers I have listed above, though.
This will be used with my XONAR DG, but a friend of mind might be selling me his Creative titanium HD soon. Also, I listen to a lot of electonica music (trance, dubstep, house, and electro), indie, indie pop, punk pop, alternative, and hip-hop. I want a woofer and that really punch my fast and that is fast, never really a fan of bloaty, boomy bass.
So, what are your guy's thoughts?
Oh, and M-audio jsut released the BX5 D2. Does anyone know how these compare with the BX5a?

First, I should note that I auditioned these both straight out of the box, without any break-in time and then later after 53 hours of break-in. Recent scientific studies have shown definite...

Well musically inclined subs are not cheap and if u like low end another option is perhaps a pair of strong floorstanders and $$ permitting fork out for a quality sub later?
That's a bit out of my budget.
Any help?........
And on another note, these speakers will be used purely for music listening and nothing more. Do you guys think it is bad to get "monitor" speakers for this reason? I heard monitors are a bit flat sounding for just casual listening.

Yeah some monitors are more flat... A more musical monitor geared towards listening to music and movies is the Swans M200 MKIII.. its more coloured for professionals but it sounds amazing as an all purpose near field monitor.

Please see my listing for a Napa Acoustics setup. I think it's exactly what you are looking for. For your electronic music you might appreciate the 6dB bass boost button.

These behringers are mucn better than the m-audios for an extra $50, http://www.amazon.com/Behringer-B1030A-Powered-Studio-Monitors/dp/B006O1PEQ4/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1326465284&sr=8-3 . monitors are fine for causual listening if you like a netruel sound some monitors have a slight u curve like the behringers. Or for around $200 you could get a passive up http://www.amazon.com/Dayton-DTA-100a-Class-T-Digital-Amplifier/dp/B004JK8BDK/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1326465508&sr=8-2 , http://www.amazon.com/Polk-Audio-TSi100-Bookshelf-Speakers/dp/B00192KF12/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1326465523&sr=8-1 .
The dayton sub is really good for the money but it is rumbley and not very muscial, a more musicial sub is gonna cost you alot more.
