Haven't really found any yet, so if you find one let me know

And no, Tool sounds nothing like Pink Floyd :p

Oh, you can get Roger Water's solo albums, Amused to Death in particular. AWESOME album!

Wright, Gilmour also have solo material which may or may not sound like PF..

Besides, if you haven't checked it out, check out the movie The Wall

IMHO, few bands touch Pink Floyd, so even if one is 'comparable', they all fall short...

don't know of any that sounds similiar, but check out roger waters solo albums. pro's and con's of hitchhiking is amazing and amused to death is pretty good. Radio KAos is pretty bad though.

Roger Waters solo stuff is very similar to the Pink Floyd back catalogue as somebody already mentioned.

You would probably also like THE ALAN PARSONS PROJECT. AP was the engineer for many of the classic Pink Floyd albums and could even be thought of as the fifth member. Look for I ROBOT, EYE IN THE SKY, EVE, TURN OF A FRIENDLY CAR and PYRAMID amongst others.

I don't think anything but Pink Floyd sounds exactly like Pink Floyd.

Syd Barrett (who was with Pink Floyd at the beginning) albums sound somewhat like a scaled down Pink Floyd. From what I understand Pink Floyd's "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" was inspired by Barrett. I think his song "Dark Globe" (also called "Wouldn't You Miss Me" is great).

Other bands or albums have reminded me in one way or another of Pink Floyd.

The following albums:
Lisa Germano's "Geek The Girl"
Genesis "The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway"
Flaming Lips' "Hit On The Future Head"

are examples of music that in some way (to me anyway) seem to, without trying to, operate on the same emotional turf as some of Pink Floyd's stuff.

get yourself a Porcupine Tree album.. I would say the best places to start would be ON THE SUNDAY OF LIFE or SKY MOVES SIDEWAYS. There's some VERY Floydian stuff on these albums.

There is one particular album from Pedro Aznar (an Argentinian composer and musician) the soundtrack of the film "Man Facing South-East" or something like that as the original title is in Spanish...that on one side is the soundtrack and the other is music for a ballet, that sounds pretty similar to Pink Floyd to me, don't try to find it in CD though, it was only released in vinyl AFAIK, but is true that they are pretty unique in the way they sound and in general, I don't think it will be an easy task to find any other band that will sound similar to them...

Try Anathema's late albums :
Eternity
Judgement

Although basically Goth-Metal in their last albums, the Floydian influence is strongly felt...

Well if we're talking particular songs, Elbow's "Any day now" is as close as you get to PF's Anstronomy domine

being a big fan of Pink Floyd, I definately recommmend Porcupine Tree (either The Sky Moves Sdieways or Lightbulb Sun). If you likeyour music dark and slightly depressing, Anathema (Judgement and A Natural Disaster) is fantastic as well.

Try David Gilmour's self-titled 1st solo, I think you will find a lot of familiar sounds there.

The Orb's first 2 albums Adventures Beyond the Ultraworld, and UFOrb. Heavily inspired by Pink Floyd. Check out the album cover for the first album and their Live 93 album.
