Paying attention to traffic lights, cars and other cyclists is for the weak!

...

Lots of drama is an understatement.

I see, then that means I don't have to worry about demoing the first ep.

So in short you claim that whether or not Jgray likes or dislikes a show, you'll watch it? Where's the use in that.

His ranting lol

Most of the series you guys like are objectively good. I know that. Only problem then for me, is if it is enjoyable for me.

I can basically give Bakemonogatari a 9/10 as an innovative anime that does so much 'right'. I have already done some analyzation of its usage for perspective, and which character is saying what and how they want to be perceived and how the anime uses those point of views and feelings in its presentations. I can do that. But in the end, I hate the series with a mighty hammer in terms of me falling asleep at it. I get 0 enjoyment out of it. 0.

You guys being enjoyed at an anime thus gives me an idea of an objectively good series. The problem then for me is if I will enjoy it.

And then when Jgray actively rages at the ecchi in another anime. I know that will then probably be a show I will watch lol

I'll say listen to the panda partially. Regarding White Album, I'm just lashing out to how bland and normal and dumb it looks; judge a book by its cover and all that jizz.

Real bad example. I hate monogatari series. It's got excellent animation, but it's extremely boring and has way too much focus on fan service and moe if you ask me.

you think monogatari series has too much moe? There's a bit of fanservice, but nothing insane compared to your average ecchi ****.

That's a bad argument, since I hate ecchi shows with a burning passion. It's the cancer that is killing anime in my eyes.
If you think monogatari series does not have a lot of moe and fanserivce then you probably have gotten used to the cancerous state of a large part of currently airing anime. Booh mechy, booh.

You are now officially among the ranks of people who see moe as a good thing, meaning you are among the people who (in my eyes) invite mediocrity into an otherwise good medium.

This is one of shows that aren't in intersection thingy in our Venn diagram. I don't think bake has a lot of ecchi, and I'll admit that nise has lots of it. I want to say that its ecchi fanservice is different overall, but other than the ultraawesome toothbrushing hard on action, that's it. I'll say this though for the Monogatari series: I like this kind of harem, not the usual harem. There are fan service and moe, but I don't think it's as blatant as spunk gargle wee*1.

I mean, the (arguably) best show this season, KILL LA KILL, is very blatantly ecchi, what with the hyper exhibitionist sentai suits the main characters wear. But people that thinks too much more than me while watching KILL LA KILL said that Trigger has some message for it and smth smth about be proud of yourself or some such. Maybe Trigger used ecchi fan service with another primary goal, and the fap fuel of the design is a secondary goal. Contrasting that to Idol Wrestling PoS, which its primary, secondary and tertiary goals are without a doubt as fap fuel first (but what I got from the blogosphere is that those that love wrestling as what it is truly, not the fantasy of what wrestling portrays, say that Idol Wrestling PoS is even bad at the wrestling thing). Ecchi fan service is just a mere tool, and I think with enough work, I can overlook the ecchi fan service for the main thing that a studio want to present. That being the Monogatari series and KILL LA KILL, for example, and the counter example for one is Gargantia.

*1: I hope Yahtzee of Zero Punctuation isn't mad at me for adapting his label for CoD and Cod clones for trashy haremoecchi anime.

He can't possibly be mad a t you for spreading this wonderful term.
But isn't it spunk gargle wee wee?
Whatever.

And another counterpoint against "moe is bad", I present SZS, which I think is kind of moe in a weird sense. True that that isn't the usual plebian kind of moe, but still.

I just finished this show btw :)
Really enjoyed it!
To me, Joshiraku was funnier, but the characters in SZS are just waaay better.

That is what you call autumn/fall, genius.

So many anime stacked up. HeadFi meet and meeting friends in London seems to draw my free time but also nekomimi intake time.

I mean to say that failing to see the fanservice and moe in monogatari series means that you've been pretty far gone, that's all.
The reason I don't like it is absolutely not the fanservice, but rather just the fact that I find it really quite boring. Bakemonogatari was OK-ish, but nisemonogatari was no good at all in my humble and honest opinion.

It is spunk gargle wee wee.

Another show using moe well: Non Non Biyori. It's somehow inoffensive in its moeness, somehow that doesn't make me want to smash my brains in. Weird.

This. I don't know what it is, but somehow it doesn't pull my hate trigger.

Trying to repair some Beats. So many freaking small teeny tiny fragile wires and one of them has a bad connection; but I have no idea which one :frowning2:.

They entire right driver is silent, so it's probably a bad connection somewhere. But finding out where is pretty difficult, and the fact that there is an amplifier in the circuit makes it even more difficult.

Gonna try some more and then just give up.

Looks a lot more complex than I thought it would.

Thank me later.

Well the way you replied to mechy was a bit confusing to me. Maybe I just didn't brain enough. Despite that, fair enough: I just love the way SHAFT does crazy things animation wise in Bakemonogatari, since they basically found their cash cow with it but didn't milk it to death quickly. To be honest, they are milking it do death, but like I said, it's not too quickly to dry out the cow. More power to them.

Damn... the number of projects I do are inversely proportional to the time left until my midterms..... (i.e. tomorrow)

So I made another one today.... Project-Overdrive: Phantom-powered Guitar preamp + DI
Named after the song by IOSYS for no special reason.
Provides low, mid, high tonal controls and a soft-clipper for distortion effects.
