Personally I think the HD600 is a very pleasant option, comparing around with other headphones I heard. Doesn't burn the wallet too bad, and works pretty well with almost anything IMO.
Yes I have heard the HD800, easily the best headphone I have heard (a tad better than the AKG K812 and Audeze LCD-X), but the price puts me off.
I don't have the urge to upgrade though, maybe cause going upwards is way too expensive for me LOL

The HD800 was a little too unforgiving for me. I preferred the Beyer T1, especially since I listen to a fair amount of youtube music.
It is totally unforgiving. I had to pick youtube music with acceptable bitrate else it's just no go.
tbh though, lately I haven't been using my HD800 as much. College already started again and I only use headphones at night, maybe after 2200.
For slow music/instrumentals, watching anime and PS3 gaming, speakers all the way just cuz it's a lot comfy this way.

None of my neighbors have yet to complain even when I was watching Yosuga no Sora yesterday so I guess my speakers still safe.
I did feel uneasy though.

tbh, I don't really mind what headphone I use as long as it's closed (doesn't leak sound), comfortable and not heavily distorted (e.g. beats studio).
mainly because my brain will kinda adapt to the new sound sig after a day of listening and it will just sound normal.
