Do the Pro 80's leak much sound?

I honestly do not know.

Whilst burning-in, they do not sound as loud as the Superlux or JVC sitting next to them.

Sound isolation is not a priority, at all, for my choices and there is no one around to hear sound leakage.

Performing a simple 'clamp the two cups together' reveals little leakage compared to the JVC or SL's when playing Toccata and Fugue.

But, again, I don't value lack of leakage so do not know what would or would not be acceptable to you.

Thanks, I appreciate it. The Shure 940 Pads are Velour.
How was the sound affected, in your opinion? On reviews on Amazon, found some that said that the sound suffered pretty badly. Just wondering, most likely going to get the Pro 80 / Gemini Headphone.
My Hi2050 came with velours so I wouldn't know. Typically when going from leather to velour, you lose out on bass and bass impact. Do a search for the pro80s, I remember some people swappings to velours but I forget what the outcome was.

Hi, my friend is thinking of ordering the HD 5500 with me, she wants this criteria:
Good with music that she likes (She likes songs made by Marianas Trench and Hedley, and also a bit of K-Pop)
Sound isolation
Durable cords/material

Thanks, I appreciate you answering my questions, helps out a lot. Only like 6 Reviews on Amazon for the Gemini. So was wondering. =D

Takstar 5500 and Pro80 would meet those criteria. Also look into the JVC HA-S500 and S680. The JVC's have less isolation, but a sound that would appeal to a non-gearhead.

I'm looking for an upgrade to my JVC S500.  Can someone rate the vocals and bass quantity and bass quality between Pro 80, HD5500, HD6000, and HI-2050?

I find the S500 to be slightly bass heavy.  I listen mostly to Pop and Rock.

Also, what do you think of this comparison?  His favorite was the HD6000.  He said the HD5500 had too much bass.

Just got HSR 1000's and although I find the headphones to be good, they didn't blow me away like I thought I would. Is it weird that I would rate them very closely to my JVC FX101B earbuds? Also are there any good mods for this headphone?

Hello Head Fi community,

I would like to have your opinion guys, i just bought a Xonar STX (and a Fiio E07K for my laptop) + Shure 840 (music/movies and some casual FPS gaming) but then i noticed that here in Israel Takstar has an official reseller, do you think i should return the Shures and buy the Hi 2050s (40$ and i can pick them up from the store), i don't mind to keep the 840s if the sound quality is much better.

I also just purchased the 2050 and wonder if it's still a viable option for a budget headphone now-a-days...got them for $38.00 shipped from JD.com, just looking for some listening options and variety.
Also anyone familiar with JD.com? I haven't received them yet but got conformation emails and used Paypal so I hope I'm safe...

The smart thing would be to return the Shures, get the 2050 and see if they fullfill your needs, if they do not get the Shures and yoy have wasted as little money as possible
I think the difference is more a sidestep in quality than a step up, going form 2050 to 840 or vise versa..
